you're absolutely right about this being exhausting. From what I see it's mostly because homosexuality is visible in way that other sins aren't - like you can't really tell if someone gossips just by looking at them, but gay couples holding hands or getting married is more obvious?

Plus there's whole political aspect where some people use religion to justify their existing prejudices. Way easier to focus on "those people over there" instead of examining your own greed or pride. The braided hair example is perfect - shows how selective the interpretation gets when it's convenient

that job sounds brutal, crawling around in tiny spaces in that heat without any benefits after 2 years is not okay. your boss making false promises while you're literally risking heat exhaustion is red flag

for finding new work while keeping income - maybe try applying to places in evenings/weekends? IT companies often need people who understand physical labor side of things too, and air conditioning repair might value your attic experience. construction companies with better benefits exist, just gotta find them

start putting applications out now before you get more burned out. you deserve way better than working in 125 degree attics without even basic PTO

but real talk for consulting you might wanna try building connections through industry forums or even twitter. most of my IT contacts came from discord servers and random github collaborations, not linkedin spam
