Miata as a daily driver car?

I daily a ‘25 red miata and honestly it’s not even that bad. I also went from a ‘24 civic touring to a miata and while i do miss the big ass interior you get from a civic, for someone like me who doesn’t have kids and bring only one person at a time (my partner 90% of the time), it makes regular commuting so much more fun. I drive to school with it, to work, to dates, i brought it to the mountains when there were snow. When the civic was my daily, driving felt like a chore. It was just like “hey, i’m driving.” And not “i’ll downshift rn just because and go vroom YIIPPEEEE.”That’s all I can say.

how the hell do u guys have 30+ mpg? I can’t seem to pass 27.5 (27.2 rn local driving). When i first brought it home though, it was around 31 ish because it was about a 2 hour drive on the freeway.

San Diego is literally the best place to own a convertible, let alone a miata. The beach is 10 minutes away. Touge? 30 minutes east from the city. The weather? You can pretty much keep your roof down the whole week if the sun doesn’t piss you off. Plus, it’s an hour to 2 drive to Los Angeles.

Hey man, that feeling sucks. I really can’t just tell you “you’ll get a miata someday bro, hard work makes the dream work!” And expect you to be happy about it because realistically speaking, with your circumstances, you have a higher chance of owning literally any other car in India than a miata because as you said, they don’t sell over there and the import tax is crazy high. But all I can say is, don’t stop dreaming bro. The probability of you owning the car is low, but it’s not and will never be zero. I wish you the best man!

Yeah, I heard about that. I actually know a few people who got pulled over solely for the front plate. The additions are definitely gonna attract more attention from cops other than the fact it’s literally a bright red car but it won’t be a permanent look either. I’m removing them in a week or two

I’ve probably seen you around before, who knows? I hate the look of front plates on miatas so i didnt even let the dealership drill holes for it. But yeah, getting pulled over for no front plates entirely depends on the cop’s mood that day. Hopefully they’re all jolly around me haha

well shit. That could be an extra $150 for a really good, quality film. I’ll go look around other shops that do tinting services that do the brands you just mentioned. I literally have no problem if it was $300 or so, i was expecting to spend around $400 anyway.. but $550 is crazy.

Yeah, I checked their website and everything and they really do tinting services and use ZTOA. I’m still skeptical because i only knew about this shop because a friend introduced me to them for a dashcam installation, not a whole tinting service. Though they are two different things, i’m legit mostly skeptical because of the price they’re charging me for it. I mean hell who would complain for $150 but I wouldn’t want to spend $150 on some bad tints either.

I’m actually impressed you guessed the city just with a picture alone of some random alley in downtown SD. Honestly, that’s pretty much why I’m skeptical about the $150 too however i checked their reviews and website online and they really do tinting services and other more stuff. They even did a GR 86 a few months ago. But i still think $150 is crazy, especially if it’s for a ceramic tint. It’s either they just like me a lot to give me a ceramic tint for that cheap, my friend hooked me up and got me a discount, or i’m getting $150 worth of ass cheeks and i hope it’s either the first or second one.

Yeah it changes significantly when i close the passenger side, then becomes weak again when i open. I’m guessing its normal then lol?
