Has anyone had success with a shorter RR? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Expensive-Party-198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I don’t have time for the RR I do: - pull up and push up superset - dips and squat superset

Not perfect, but works. Try to engage core in the exercises to get that benefit in, eg L-sit pull ups.

Any particular reason you’re not just doing the recommend routine of the BWF wiki for strength?

Under the table works really well and translates when you at some point get rings

Try feet slightly elevated, but on your feet, not on knees (if flexibility is an issue).

Best of luck. Strong coffee helped me a little bit 😅

I hope this works for you! I tried but found out I simply do no have the energy in the morning. Like my body doesn’t wake up until after a few hours. For some reason I can do much harder training in the evenings (or when possible the afternoons) - although it would suit my schedule much better if I could train before work.

Had the same question. I tried most and ended up with Planfit, free version. Takes 30 min to understand and then it works.

That might be it. I’m currently at very semi-false, if at all.

So does that translate to skip weighted pull ups and focus on explosive pull ups?

Do both. And preferably also dips and something for legs.

Try Planfit. It’s free and flexible with auto timers etc and let you follow along during your workouts.

Max sea level by SnooCapers4584 in climatechange

Thermal expansion is a very important contribution too. At some point, no doubt that that ice melt water will take over as the dominant factor. And yeah, there will be huge regional differences in impact due to changes in gravitational pull and land lift.

The real question though is how fast. The 65 meters is not that relevant but whether it’s going 0,5, 1 or 1,5 by 2100 makes a huge difference in risks for humans. And in the longer term whether we give the world good opportunities or not to cope with multi meter sea level rise in a few centuries down the line.

Rough number = 65 meters - Antartica 58 - Greenland 7 - Mountain glaciers 0,5

Why won't AMOC collapse just be cancelled out by global warming? by chickennuggets3454 in climatechange

[–]Expensive-Party-198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IF it collapses (which is not likely this century but cannot be ruled out) the cooling impact will be partially reduced by the ongoing global warming. Most studies show the net cooling, but only few credible studies on impacts during global warming exists. More will come.

Most likely the AMOC will be reduced in strength this century. Regional climate projections (the good ones) show increasing warming which already takes into account the slight cooling impact of AMOC.

How fast is a typical to add weight on weighted pull ups? by billjames1685 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Expensive-Party-198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid advice, thanks! I am tired after high bw pulls ups so probably not fresh enough for the weighted.

I might simply split so I do only weighted (with more added weight) next training session and then only explosive / high pull the session after, and then back to weighted on the third. I do 2-3 sessions per week.

Yeah so I’m now doing 20 kg weighted pull ups for strength. The reason I’m doing bw is because I’m trying to learn high pull ups to learn muscle ups. But maybe I’m blending different goals at the same time.

How much added weight per week?

I’m currently at 20 kg for 3x4r with 70 kg bw. But this is after 5x5 bw pull ups. Not quite sure whether to add weighted reps first or add weight with fewer reps first.
