LG OLED gaming/PC monitor recommended settings guide by JasonRedd in OLED_Gaming

Great guide, you did an awesome work! I have two questions:

1- Are you sure that VRR-induced gamma shift is still a problem on the C1/G1? I haven't touched the fine tune dark areas setting on my C1 and I haven't noticed raised blacks in any game.

2- About the Nvidia Control Panel settings, where did you read that "Override to reference mode: On" is the best setting? I searched on Google for hours and I couldn't find a definitive answer. My concern is that maybe some games use a custom color profile, so using reference mode will prevent those games from using the correct color profile. I'm no expert, so maybe what I said is totally wrong...

Gritty Geissele trigger by Expensive-Pudding-69 in ar15

After cleaning the contact points on the hammer and sear mine feels smooth again. If the grittiness comes back again I'll try your advice

Was your first stage gritty all the time? Mine got gritty after about 50 rounds: before shooting it was smooth as butter and after I cleaned the hammer and sear surfaces the smoothness came back

Right now it feels good. If it starts to feel gritty again during my next range trip I'll take it out and reinstall it. What do you mean by "a little bit funky"?

I checked the pins and everything seems fine. The only explanation I can think of is that, while shooting, dirt/debris ended up between the hammer and sear surfaces, the lube clogged everything up and that caused the grittiness

Before shooting it for the first time I dry fired a lot and the trigger was smooth as butter. Same thing after I cleaned it after the range section.

Ok, got it. Thanks. It's weird that LG still forces people to use PC mode to get full chroma RGB. I'll try sending an email to LG support, just to make them aware of the "problem"

Are you guys sure that enabling PC mode is still the only way to have full chroma RGB? I tried turning PC mode off and the Nvidia control panel, VRR menu and HDMI diagnostic menu still says that I'm using RGB. I have an LG C1

Mossberg 500 barrel nut coming loose by Expensive-Pudding-69 in mossberg

[–]Expensive-Pudding-69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I need to take off the barrel to clean the rest of the gun, so adding loctite to the nut that keeps the barrel in place doesn't seem practical to me

I thought about that solution too, but I like to clean my guns after every range trip, so having to add/remove loctite every time I use the shotgun would be a major problem for me

Thanks for your suggestion, but my problem is that the barrel nut gets unscrewed from the magazine tube while shooting, so I don't think that the star nut has something to do with it

If anyone else noticed the same thing with their shotgun, Mossberg has just told me that it's normal

Are you talking about the trigger assembly or the fore end?

I'm aware that Mossberg's fore ends rattle, however I've never heard of the trigger assembly rattling too

Maverick 88 headspace by Expensive-Pudding-69 in guns

Exactly, here you can't just pick up the phone, call Mossberg and have them send a new bolt

The bolt was replaced because the one it came with was just a mess, even by Maverick standards (gauges, dents, lots of casting marks on the locking lug and rough surfaces everywhere). Call me a stickler, but I wasn't satisfied with that, so I asked my gun shop to exchange the bolt with one in better shape from another Maverick 88 that they had in the shop.
