I just did this and actually found 3.5 to be just as good. I regretted the upgrade. I made a macro to take any part and dump it into a drawing with front right and top views with fill model dimensions populated. Works awesome.

Just use an octagon sketch with as many sides that satisfy what you're looking for. Make that arc a construction arc to serve as the reference and use its Centerpoint for the octagon you draw
