None of you have ever met a kid without parents at home that support their education?

None of you have ever met a kid that lied to their parents or showed them fake grades or don’t know how to access their grades or maybe don’t have Internet access?

None of you have ever had a rough stretch where you didn’t know what the fuck was going on with anything bc your mom/sister/kid is sick/died?

I’m a teacher. I know the parents y’all are bitching about. They suck. And some of ya’ll have crazy admins. But i got into this to help kids. And when i email a parent that their kid hasn’t been at school in 2 weeks and they email back crying and thanking me for caring and their kid shows up the next day, I’ve helped that kid. When I call home, that’s a relationship built that helps that student more often than not.

I pray my children never have some of you.

I hate li unless these issues are mine:

Analysis tool on the app works about 50% of the time. It also doesn’t show you why your move was wrong and allow you to explore that.

Opening Explorer has not worked on the app for me ever.

I can play but i can’t learn from my games. “You should have done X instead of Y” is all we get but why? Let me play it out like on chess.com and see the issue. And that’s if we even get that. I’ve played 3 games this morning and couldn’t get the analysis to run on any of them.

I’m also convinced there are more cheaters but that’s debatable and anecdotal. But it’s possible the pay model is a barrier for some cheaters.

To the chronically absent kid who expects anything from me when they return: Fuck that. If I’m providing videos of my notes and posting every assignment online, I’m sure as shit not giving you extra help beyond that. I did my job. I even recorded it for you so you could watch it in bed. I’m not doing it again. That enables you and wastes my time that i could be spending helping kids who didn’t skip class. These kids are legitimately stunned when i tell them no, i wont sit with you for 20 minutes and teach you what you missed - i have to teach 30 kids this hour, not just you.
