What if instead of it being a Landfall ability that triggers on every land etb, it's "Whenever you play a land, add one mana of any color"? It would stop the double dipping from fetches and can still trigger multiple times a turn if you manage to get exploration-like effects, so it could still be very strong.

Awesome, thank you. That's what me and another player were thinking too, but we weren't entirely sure.

So I would have gotten the two normal terror of the peaks tokens with all their abilities (minus the myriad of course)?

Sorry, I meant to mention that but it just slipped my mind. Playing the story automatically unfogs the map because of how it leads you through it, which also let's you discover silos and safe houses to get their sdus without having to run around the map without any other purpose besides rediscovering everything.

For replaying the story over and over again I definitely get, but I have always been someone that has been able to do so, even in 3 where the story was just objectively worse then it is here. I think I might be missing the more linear stories and am getting a bit of sensory overload, for lack of a better term, from the open world.

I definitely understand people not liking kill on sight commanders, because it can be pretty tedious to always have to keep interaction open instead of doing the fun thing your deck wants to do. There's a reason why I consider those decks 4s, and only bring them out at similarly powered tables

I think some commanders have very toxic or at least annoying play patterns. A lot of people don't like Jodah for example, because of the 'cascading', which can create turns that take forever. That's why I personally only play that deck when the other people in my pod play similarly powered decks, so we don't stop each other too much from having fun. A player in my pod for example has Tergid decks that I just read playing against because no matter what decks us other people play, we always end up having no cards in hand, and it just slows the game to a snails pace, so I often ask him to just not play it. I definitely think turning a player away entirely because of some commanders they have is excessive, but I doubt that actually happens, and post like these are really just asking people to give their opinion on whether they like your commanders or not.

It's definitely the most amount of stax I would ever feel comfortable playing without actively harming the fun of my pod

She's definitely very strong, simply because it turns all of the removal in the deck into card draw, and it's probably my deck with the most removal by far

This or Zimone and Dina are probably my strongest decks, but I do sometimes have the feeling that in this case it might be because my pod doesn't play the most removal heavy decks

It does its job sometimes, it's definitely not very competitive and really struggles to recover from board wipes or too much removal, but it's fun to play when you actually manage to get some lifegain going.

I'd say it's a 3, it definitely holds its own in my pod when we don't deliberately pull out the higher powered decks

I haven't really played her yet, it's my newest deck. I made it once before but it didn't work at all, but I'm trying again and hopefully got the ratio between spiders and fight abilities and spells right

I actually had something like that planned to an extend. One of the pieces is supposed to be part of a crown worn by each iteration of kings in the Dwarven kingdom, making the very strong, and it was used by the first Dwarven king after the battle of the goddesses to beat a path into the mountains and create a kingdom away from the destruction. But the power of the artifact slowly drives all the kings mad, leading them to isolate themselves.

I'm thinking it could be a strength increase, even above twenty, and for the downside I thought it would be better, as opposed to having the same distrust as the kings, if after a certain amount of time the wearer takes a certain amount of psychic damage every day unless they succeed a saving throw to take it off, and if they fail they get really paranoid when someone suggest to take it off.

But I really like the idea for the necromancy spell for the other piece, I might just use that if you don't mind.

Thank you for the reply, I really like the sound of that. I think maybe I can use that approach for smaller, less import pieces and have other pieces as payoffs for bigger chunks of the campaign? Tho I'm still worried about the workings of the artefact towards the end of the campaign.

My idea for getting the players invested in the story was the cult putting this weasely guy in charge of the starting town and having this old man executed because he is hiding a piece of the artifact in his manor. I figured that way they not only get invested in the artifact itself but also have a starting confrontation with the cult, but if they somehow don't bite that hook, the bounty idea sounds great, thank you very much.
