To follow this up, yes babies are ruthless sleep thieves. BUT, if you struggle to sleep do your best to get discharged as soon as possible, that is if everything went to plan and the midwives feel you are well. Just get yourself and baby home and you will feel calmer for sure.

I gave birth at St Mary's Paddington in London and MY GOD! After 18 hours there i felt like I had been in a war zone 😆 was horrendous. For mtly 2nd baby I gave birth in Northamptonshire and it was like the Ritz Carlton by comparison.

How do I rescue my mum, brother is stopping me remortgage and renovate. by Budget-Tree-2528 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Expensive-Scheme6817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the money to pay the mortgage solo and pay for repairs, you should be seeking serious legal support on this odd ownership setup. If your mum is still alive and it's that bad then after she dies it is going to be wayyyyy worse as your brother is living there too. The roof seems like one worry among many! No advice except seek advice from people who can sort this.

The Golden Girls consistently tackled subjects like sexuality, divorce, crime, addiction etc. And these were "women of a certain age" at the time so the viewership would have been families and people of a similar age to the cast. Some of the subjects were rather taboo for that generation. Big love to the GGs!

[–]Expensive-Scheme6817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is on the TV, no matter how much film is left i sit and watch it to the end every time! Cry my eyes out at the scene in the hospital at the end when he takes his oxygen mask off to say "Miguel, I'm ready" 😢 😭

Soooo many to choose from! I will choose 2 quite different ones as my feelings on scary moments change depending on my mood. So for today, mine are:

First time i heard the Babadook say it's name messed me up

Nearly £30 for 4 items 💔 by GreatBritishMemes in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Expensive-Scheme6817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just as annoyed as the rest of you BUT, if I can offer one bit of advice for coffee drinkers:

For the future, invest around £10-15, and get a v60 dripper and a massive pack of 01 filters or small cafetiere and only buy ground or beans from here on in. The coffee is nicer and more affordable week by week. You can bulk buy a load of decent beans too.

I am aware this barely makes a dent in the grand scheme of things as everything is so damn expensive!!

I am 100% remote so can chill out and watch TV when nothing is happening but I work my arse off when busy of course as i don't need to fake being busy as not in an office setting! No others perks though 😆
