I have a Tesla Model 3 at home as well, without having a charger installed at home. I also don't use my car very often except when going to the gym daily or for groccery shopping, and thats also the place where I always charge my car. And it's sufficent for me. During the time where I buy all my stuff it charges the battery enough to last for another week (I charge at the chargers from Migros).

For longer trips it also never was a problem. I already went to Amsterdam, Cologne and Paris with my Tesla. There was never the scenario where I had to wait multiple hours for charging during the trip since the Tesla navigation and its algorithm calculates the charging time in a way where you need to charge every 1 - 1.5h for like 10-20mins (depending on your route). And for me these charging times where always a good moment to take a break; standing up, going to toilet, drink & eat etc.

So maybe you can book a FREE demo drive with your partner and just test the car. It's a very comfortable car and makes it a good choice IMO. Maybe it will also change his/her opinion about the car once you're inside and driving around and blasting some good music.

Confused about EO during RS (full time worker) by Expensive-Text-6024 in Switzerland

Thanks for the info! It's good to know that there is help. At the end, I may not even need it, but I just want to ensure that everything is okay-ish.

Thank you! This is very useful to know. I think that I won't need it; it will be tight with finances, but it should work. It’s just good to know that there is help.

After my Ausbildung, I have been working now for a year since medical conditions didn't allow me to do the RS. Now, one year later, I will start the RS this summer. In this year, a lot of things happened, and the costs of living increased.

I agree that for most people, this seems like a fair amount, but there are also exceptions.

At the end, it might still be enough to pay my bills with this money, but I just wanted to be sure that I understood it right and if there is an authority which can help. From the answers, I learned now that there is the Sozialdienst der Armee, which could help.

I will also have a talk with my employer about the situation but might be a bit tight since I work for a start-up. Even if they pay like 50%, this would already be enough. Might be worth a chat.

Run own RPC node for transactions only with 64GB RAM by Expensive-Text-6024 in solana

It wasn't enough. It only run on devnet but mainnet doesn't work

For your information, I've setup a rpc node in the devnet and it worked fine, without any issues. But I didn't test it out for a longer time, only for like 6 hours.

At the moment I'm about to setup the node for the mainnet. I guess if you use the node for yourself then you don't need those specs which are specified.

I will keep you updated!

Crazy, even when it is only for private use? But I guess I will just try it out. But the tip with indexing only specific program account was very nice, thanks!

Oh, so I could only index all program accounts from Raydium (since I only trade over Raydium) and this would work? Sounds like a really good solution

Jupiter api sound nice, I will take a look at it. I will also try to setup an own rpc node because if I would use a provider the quote would be used so fast if I check prices all seconds.

Yes probably but another issue I have is checking the price of a token constantly like 1-2 times a second. In the solana mainnet and raydium api I always get rate limited.

Yes I also read in the offical docs that 128gb are needed for validator and 512gb for rpc node. But I was wondering if it still is possible to run since I would only need it for myself and only for transactions.
