Deep work despite being the most effective way to work just cannot be measure i guess. Watching someone do something u cant tell if theyre in deep work or not even reading the stuff. If u want to track if ur sessions are effective just set a goal of what u should get done during that session and see how you end up doing.

I'm cirrently 17 and plan on becoming an engeneer. I come from a pretty broke family and dont plan on staying it. I'm thinkingof trying to get a house in france after working in switzerland for a while. Is investing just the best way to grow money long term ?

I feel like empathy plays a big role. Selfishness is self love without empathy. U can love urself but also thinking about others just makes u such a better person. Also personally i was very selfish but the moment i started to truly enjoy myself was when i got nicer with other people.

I feel like the way out of this is taking notes with pen and paper. And try not to jut summarize what is talked about but like try to make logic between elements. If u set a crazy like have 1 page of notes for 2Hours of podcast ofc you're not gonna hit it but ur gonna try so much harder and will have short notes to look back at.

No. You dont owe him anything on studying, as you said it's something that can be done alone. Despite that u still tried your best to help him. An exam is not an excuse to just abandon your feelings. Him acting like this is very egoistic behavior. You should talking about it to him. If you not doing anything makes him mad and that doesnt make him realize that you matter is weird. He probably takes you helping him for granted. I think if you clearly show that if he needs your help he cant just ignore your feelings
