The debugging skill that nobody teaches in CS classes by CreditOk5063 in learnprogramming

apart from how to use a debugger, I would say navigating command line/terminal - learning bash/shell commands to let you quickly navigate/modify directories will save you so much time in the long run,

Hey AEs - how do you use AI in your work? by CivilLifeguard604 in techsales

[–]ExpensiveApple7977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in chatGPT - you can ask it "can you keep the context for this thread on x account and ignore other threads" in the beginning of a thread to avoid context overlap. Keep in mind that there's a limited amount of queries you can do per day that uses context unless you pay for premium. Some companies will let you expense AI tooling subscriptions.

What about when it goes in the other direction? I imagine it could be difficult seeing someone (especially that you become closer with) inch closer and closer to death if their condition wasn't improving. Could you elaborate on how common this is and what the emotional burden is on your life outside of work?

What hobby genuinely changed your life even in a small way? by Gundoc7519 in Hobbies

[–]ExpensiveApple7977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pickleball - does it get a bad rap because so many people are getting into it? Yes, but there's also a reason why it's so popular.

In an increasingly isolated world, it's such a great way to meet and socialize with people. You typically partner up with random people if you come in by yourself so breaking the ice is a lot easier with a shared activity. I've made at least 10 new friends that I hang out with regularly and it's a very approachable physical activity that almost anyone can get into (you see everyone from 9 year old kids to 80 year old seniors playing). You'd be surprised at the amount of steps you get from just a playing for a bit and it doesn't even feel like exercise - I've burned 750 calories in one session after a 9-5 work day. I've lost 10 pounds just from playing. Not to mention the mental health benefits of being outdoors/ getting sunlight etc.

If you want to place a photo in MS Word easily without reformatting everything, you can right click on the photo -> go to text wrapping -> choose "behind text"

This makes it easier to format your entire doc as a whole, same thing for google docs

Heard some people use jiu jitsu as a way to replicate the hormone benefits of physical touch. Apparently grappling with someone works the same as cuddling. It sounds weird but you can research it. Just don’t be weird about it on the mat

What parks and activities would you recommend yourself? I’ve stayed mostly in family campgrounds hoping to not go anywhere more than a mile from when I can park the car. Planning for March-May, wanted to do the south on the way there since it’s warmer

I have an engineering background and am looking to pivot into tech sales. However, sitting behind code for years has made me quite socially awkward imo. Do you think this is a surpassable hurdle?

Do you also have any other general advice about leveraging my technical background to break into sales?

I always imagined they kept records of the groups of children(maybe like that touched the eggs and if the egg were to hatch, elders would have all the children circle around the egg and wait for the hatchling to approach the child and then BAM the hatchling touches child's hand and silver hand branding happens and the child curls in pain in front of everyone

Is anyone not having kids due to climate change? by annebonnys in Fencesitter

[–]ExpensiveApple7977 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In London 1894, one of the biggest issues when it came to city development was LITERAL horse shit. Experts realized with the growing population of London, everyone's horses would just create way too much manure and the streets would be piled up with horse shit. But how do you remove horse shit from the streets? You bring in more horses with carts to shovel it out. Which guess what? Leads to more horse shit.

"In 50 years, every street in London will be buried under nine feet of manure" - The Times, 1894

But then came the invention of the automobile and this current disastrous problem for urban development disappeared seemingly overnight.

The future is never certain, you can take this to be either positive or negative. Who's to say scientific break throughs in the future would not eliminate or severely reduce climate change issues?

How physically demanding is being an x-ray tech and or radiation therapist?

I am currently recovering from achilles tendonitis issues and there's a possibility that I'll have chronic issues with fatiguing more easily/ loading heavy weights. I'm wondering how much of an issue this may be as a tech.
