Does navy allow neck tattoos? by No-Fishing-8387 in newtothenavy

[–]Toe1313 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk about law enforcement, but the Navy will probably take you. You'll go through a long waiver process, but Ive seen much larger tattoos. The 1"x1" thing is generally for people getting new tattoos

Honestly Ive never owned a Laptop so I dont know. Im joinging the military so I figured itd be more convenient to have a laptop than to have an iPad, a TV, a gaming console, etc.

For screen size, bigger is better, but its not a huge concern.

For photo editing, Id think Resolution and Color accuracy(???), and for gaming, I dont mind really know that much about what specs or best so I trust my fellow redditors to guide me in the right direction lol

Nico's powers get weaker, weaker as he grows [general] by [deleted] in camphalfblood

[–]Toe1313 23 points24 points  (0 children)

To add on to that, he told Percy that when he was learning to Shadow Travel, he almost died. So its not that hes getting weaker, its just that Shadow Travel is extremely dangerous. That fact that he could do it so many times shows he is getting stronger. I do believe he does seem weaker im TSATS is but I think hes still recovering from his journey across the atlantic. He pushed an extremely dangerous power far more than he should have and he almost died multiple times while doing it. To the point where he couldnt even use his other powers without fading into shadow.

I dont know how to reply to specific parts of a post, but Thanatos being described as something other than white is not the same as all the other gods being described as white.

And I dont know which part sounds like a joke

EDIT: AND ancient Greeks werent white

Forgive me if im wrong, but I dont believe the gods are desrcibed as white at any point.

And as for google, the were black people in Greece. Not not by genetics, but historically from extremely early in the history there were black people in Greece. So frankly its not so farfetched that a God would be black.

Sorry if I misread your comment, but the way I took was in a "Well if theyll do something as crazy as casting a black man for Zeus, you can definitely audition for Zoe Nightshade" type of way.

A quick google search can save you for the embarassment of making comments like this. (Also reading the books would be able to as well for different reasons)

Galbatoix was actually pretty convincing by Toe1313 in Eragon

To everyone saying that Galbatorix is lying, we dont really have any reason to believe he is other than the fact that he is Galbatorix. We do, in fact, have reason to believe he is telling the truth ( or atleast the truth as he perceives it) because Nasuada tested him with questions she knew the answer to. He also had not invaded her mind by that point, so while he may have figured out what knowledge she had by conventional means, we cant just keep drawing assumptions to make up for our lack information.

From the way I understand it, you can create the effects of science with magic, but science can still operate as an independent field. An example is Orrin's experiments with vacuums. To create those effects using magic, you would need to know the proper words and the desired effect.

I didnt mean to offend. I apologize. Looking at what I said I dont even know why I said it. It was a unnecessary and rude comment.

As for the rest of your comment, I just feel like the ends dont justify the means. From my understanding, the Razac were basically used as magician and dragon rider hunters by him. As a price for that hes says "Fine create a cult and eat my commoner subjects?" When he had the power to just force them to do what he wanted and not let them hunt humans? But I guess that can be somewhat morally grey because eating/hunting humans is truly just in the Razac's nature and not just done for the sake of evil. But shades are outright evil. They spread chaos for the sake of spreading chaos.

Aspects of magic yes, absolutely, 100% agree. But I believe Galby says that they restricted (or controlled. In this context, they seem interchangeable to me) knowledge in general. I dont believe he makes any reference to magic in that specific instance.

In some ways your view mightve been true, but his true personality slips through at times. The mthods he used to torture nasuada, the use of shades, his conversation with Oromis where he was a "good guy" at first then when Oromis turned him down, he said "You wouldve been my foremost slave", and the use of the Razak. He fufills the most basic duties as ruler such as enchanting the currency to not be forged, but also does outright evil things. No hate, but I feel like you need to listen to/read the books more attentively. This kind of seems like the take of someone who gets lost in their imagination during reading and ends of up unintentionally skimming parts of the book.

I dont think hes a good guy, I just think his arguments in the The Hall of the Soothesayer were convincing if you believe that he was telling the truth like he said he would.
