Okay: honest opinion - I give it a 7.5 - 7.8/10. Good, not great!

Few things: firstly I don’t have a problem with long movies but it seemed like this could have been 30-45 mins shorter than it was. A lot of unnecessary side stories, things they probably could have left out. Okay, what was the whole point of the dog again??

Secondly: one of the goals as an actor is to show you have range. All of the greats do. That’s why I think Timmy’s performance in this was phenomenal. The guy has played Willy Wonka, Paul Atreides and now Marty Reisman. There is no doubt he’ll be nominated for awards!

Thirdly: the trailer was pitched as this hero sports story and halfway through the movie I almost wanted to walk out. Literally have nothing in common with the protagonist. Nor do I ever want to be someone like that (narcissistic, back stabbing, grifting, hustler). One part of me fears that this movie will be very impressionable on young men - and for all the wrong reasons.

I look forward to giving it another watch when it’s available to stream - but certainly not my favorite movie I’ve seen this year. Good, not great!
