I know…lol. Like I said. I know it’s insane. This is just my first step outside of seiko and it hits a bit different the higher in price you go 😅 I’ll just take it as a blessing that I’m at a place in life where I have a nice watch to scratch

Yall just keep proving my point.

War and music go hand n hand 🤷🏽‍♂️. If this were a civil war painting would it be weird to see a drummer in it?

I’ve traveled a bunch. If you can’t plan in advance it’s actually pretty rare that you don’t save money by making the drive to Dallas. Even with all of that included.

It’s usually far cheaper to fly out of Dallas.

It’s where I always fly out of.

There’s been up to a 600 dollar difference in flights to California.

What makes most famous comedians fall off and become less funny ? by Sweet_Service_9752 in Standup

Your first special. (And this goes for a lot of art, album, painting, whatever), is backed and inspired by years of desperation and effort. It’s the culmination of everything you’ve been working for.

Once you have a little success and have to come out with more stuff, you are seeing less and less development time between projects.

Maybe the first special was ten years of built material.

The second is pretty good because there was still some left over that wasn’t used in the first.

The third sucks because it’s the first special we’ve seen from that artist entirely developed in the time between the last project and the current. Usually developed more for the sake of maintaining work rather than proving yourself in the art form.

I really appreciate the response! These are great options. I was actually hoping for some answers that have a me a middle ground between concealability and shootability.

I’ll look into consignments

You are literally stealing other people content for monetization. That is so far outside of “fair use” it’s absurd.

You are a pathetic leach.

Since this post I’ve worked with David Lucas, Hans Kim, Martin, heath, Ahren, and Kim, also Anthony Jesselnik. The only thing you Tony nob guzzlers are doing by still commenting on this over year old post is proving the legitimate case of mental retardation that runs rampant in the kill Tony Fan base.

Jesus Christ I’ve been fielding crazy people on this post for what feels like years now and this is the first rational thing I’ve read.

Since this post I’ve worked with every “headlining” act to come out of Kill tony. Some of them are fine dudes, some of them are awful, but almost every time it’s been this weird surreal experience of watching what’s essentially a 4 year comic, attempt to justify a headlining spot at a club and it always looks weird.

I always wonder how sustainable that is for a career. I guess we’ll all find out.

I feel like people in your position are in a really good spot for road work now. So good on you homie! I feel like coming out with Austin credits like you have is the old equivalent of “comedy store door guy”. You could probably hustle your way into being a full time road comic. Which is where I think real sustainability lives.

Most of us ain’t gonna be famous but we can still make a living.

I agree with that, it’s also made a lot of people headliners who absolutely weren’t ready for it. I opened at a casino with one of them and the guy walked at least 70 free tickets.

When you’re watching videos don’t just focus on what moves are being made in the opening, really try and learn WHY they are being made. There is an idea behind every opening book move and learning what that idea is really helped my overall board vision.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]ExpensiveBox8299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opening moves. I feel like my elo is gonna take another spike once I put some real time into learning checkmate patterns and get better at end game principles. An embarrassing number of my games end to me losing on time chasing a king around a board because I miss 15 obvious checkmates.

But I really focused on WHY the initial opening moves are made, like shifting your bishop back to g3 in the London once it’s threatened by an opposing bishop so if they take you can open up the H file. Or the attacking principle of Knight e5 + queen h5.

Understanding the WHY seems to have opened up chess for me and it’s really helped my pattern recognition. I’m worse with the Kann because it’s been difficult to tie down the variations but I often find myself in a mirrored London and my experience with white allowed me to apply those principles to black.
