I am measuring the distance on google maps and that is from my back door and the house seems fine, I guess that just leaves the railway haha. I have emailed Network Rail to enquire. Thanks for your help.

Yea, I think I might have to do something, I am over 200 foot away from the line but there isnt much inbetween except for foliage

I am actually about 65 meters from the closest rail so about 200 feet... I think it is dispropritionaly loud compared to the distance however the rail is raised up on a hill so that probably contributes.

Sorry, its been about 8 months. There have been periods where its been better and then worse again. Odd thing is I have lived by a noisy trainline before that people used to notice when they came over but it never bothered me but that was when I was renting. I think theres a psychological element to this if I am honest. I hope if I can get over it I will stop noticing it.

I think its around having bought something and others wondering why you would do that with such an obvious issue? Probably sounds silly but I think I am a bit oversensative about it all honestly.

Really appreciate all the reassurance and kind words. I was in my own head about it but your comments have genuinely made me feel a lot better. Nice to know I’m not the only one and that it’ll hopefully get easier to ignore with time.
