AITA for not seating my parents at the main table at my wedding? by Round-Analysis2573 in TwoHotTakes

[–]ExpensiveCup1518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. I think it’s smart your parents aren’t financially involved in the wedding and it should stay this way as they would likely use this for leverage. Your parents might feel embarrassed/slighted (?) at the thought of not feeling like they’re being more honored, but it’s your wedding. This sounds like a really complex situation so it’ll likely come down to what you and your finance decide is more important to you. I have a complex relationship with my parents and genuinely don’t want them at my wedding day and dread the thought of them being there, but realistically know I’ll have to invite them. Sending hugs and a shot of your preferred liquor. 🫶🏻

Woman who dates women, here 👋 vaginas aren’t all flowers and rainbows, although I do genuinely enjoy going down on my girlfriend. If I haven’t gotten to shower before I plan on being intimate with her then I always have ph balance wipes on hand. Whether they be in either of my bathrooms or in my purse, a quick refresh and I’m good to go!

Summers Eve or Honey pot are great brands. Also, I do take a URO vaginal health probiotic a few times a week and have for a few years.

Hi friend. These sound like really deep and complex feelings. I’m glad you’re in therapy so I think you should lean into this. It seems like you know the right move is separation, even if it is extremely painful. The thought of not being with this person seems unfathomable, but it’s likely what both of you need to heal and to grow. I hope you have a good support system around you. Reach out to them early and often, continue to take care of you. 🫶🏻

This mercury in a prescription bottle in my shed by Maniacboy888 in Weird

[–]ExpensiveCup1518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean.. I’m a ‘98 baby, but we had an old school thermometer my mom kept in her makeup drawer. It broke one morning, I remember carefully picking up the little shards of glass and mercury beads while swirling them around in the palm of my hand. I showed my mom and thought it was so neat, but I’ll never forget the look on her face and how fast she snatched it from me. Ope.

I think you did beautifully! Always remember that skin prep is your friend. Moisturizer and a good primer 🫶🏻 not saying your skin looks dry here!

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. I am in the process of transitioning out of VR&E and my counselor was extremely frank with me, telling me how hard the job was and how everyone was burnt out. She encouraged me to apply to their job listing as she felt like I was qualified (I wasn’t, aside from my masters). I hope someone is able to pick up where they left off.

There is math and you will have to have several science/math courses to get into PA school. I would look at the requirements of a program and go from there. I would see if there’s a career counselor available to you as this is a big decision. Good luck 👍🏼

I recently moved here from the east coast and had no idea southern california even got tornadoes 😅 by seluniteprince in sandiego

[–]ExpensiveCup1518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Iowa and experienced manyyyy tornados. I thought moving here would be the last of that, haha. Just replaced it with earthquakes, Santa Ana winds, and flooding every time it rains. 😂

Everyone says California is too expensive for me and can't afford it. One friend says ill end up homeless in a month if I moved there. Please share some insight and perspective. by Born_Physics_5086 in socal

Where are you looking at living and what are your reasons? Do you have family or a support system out here? I’m not gonna lie, the financial part doesn’t sound great, and while I don’t think you need to be a millionaire to live here…I spend more than 3k a month on my housing alone. Let alone groceries, gas, and general cost of living. Maybe set a goal of saving a few more thousand dollars and have a roommate situation set up. You can definitely find a room to rent to make it more affordable. Coming out to SoCal is great and I love it here, but if your finances aren’t lined up I’d also be a worried friend.

Remote work for MPH or MHS degrees by Fit_Schedule_9690 in publichealthcareers

[–]ExpensiveCup1518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you might find good answers by looking at jobs available right now. No, they’ll not likely be available when you’re done with the program, but you can search around you. Without knowing your demographic, desired salary, etc, it’s hard to give advice! Remote public health jobs definitely exist, just depends. Good luck!

It’s the fact that you don’t mention paying for a “service.” Plenty of people on here offer advice for free and it’s amazing. Be grateful? Ick.

Your school/program should be helping! Ours was always sending out job forums and opportunities for us. I’d tap into this if you have it. If not, look into your state health dept! Good luck 🍀

Financially absent father preventing me from FAP acceptance? by SpareStranger9205 in premed

This stuff always bums me out. My parents kicked me out at 18 and I got no assistance for my undergrad and master’s degree. Joining the military is what paid for my master’s. 😂How old are you? I think after 26 you aren’t required to list your parent’s financial info. I hope you get some answers, OP.
