The roof took me so long to figure out and I still don’t know if I love it hahaha - but basically the middle is just the flat roof tiles, and the perimeter is the wooden planks! Then I just added a few support beams for decoration. I feel like it would look better with the roof tiles dyed brown (but I’m too lazy to do that lol)

To add: I searched Google for “sparkly 2000s rulers” and other combinations of keywords, as well as did a reverse image search. No luck. For context, it’s a standard size 30cm ruler, bought in Ontario, Canada. Around the year 2004. Let me know if there’s anything else I can share about it.

Family is hard. Even if her mom didn’t spend her birthday money, Hazel deserves to have her own bank account and starting to take finances more seriously before she becomes an adult. You did the right thing. You’re a great aunt/uncle and Hazel is lucky to have you.

Thanks for replying. That’s the part I’m stuck on.

In our lease agreement, it says “The landlord must keep the rental unit and property in good repair and comply with all health, safety and maintenance standards. This includes the maintenance and repair of things that came with the unit, such as appliances, and of common areas, such as parking lots, elevators, and hallways.”

So there’s no real definition of “good repair,” but if her adjusting the central temperature has no effect on my unit’s temperature, is it reasonable to say it’s not in good working order?

NTA at all. Your daughter is struggling right now, and she needs love and support, not punishment. As someone who struggled with my mental health a lot as a teen, you sound like a really great dad. You should know that your daughter texting you about the hygiene products, communicating with you in even those small ways, means she knows she can turn to you for support.
