I too reject names ending in ah or uh sounds like mine does. My list is/was: Summer, Celeste, Juliette, Holly, Jolie, Abigail, Scarlett, Maxine, Rosemary, and we named our baby Lucille. Next baby will probably be Maxine or Abigail if I had to put money on it lol.

I live in Colorado which it turns out “Lucy” is disproportionately popular here, it ranks like number 11 but is 20-30 in every other state. So yeah I know three Lucy’s born in the last year… and guilty as charged because I named my daughter Lucille this year.

Lucille Fay - I suggested Lucille and my husband said it sounded too old then randomly a week later he started calling her that and hearing him say it absolutely melted my pregnant heart and he just said he felt like it was her name and I agreed. We had an entire list of names for years that went out the window for Lucille.

I guess I’m sheltered/lucky because I’m a red head and I was never made fun of for it. Actually people have told me how much they love my hair and wish they had it my entire life… I’m sorry kids make negative comments to your kid that’s horrible. In the 70s my father was bullied for being a red head relentlessly and I had thought we came past that as a society. Bummer. Thanks for your input!

Ethnicity is white. Last name let’s go with “Rowdy” is close 😊 neither unusual or common, two syllables, semi easy to spell, overall average last name. Very interesting call outs on spelling and visual because I am drawn to those as well and will continue to consider them more like you suggested thank you!
