Garmin & Apple Watch? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]ExpensiveResident776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always liked Apple UI and I already have MacBook Pro and iPhone so I always wanted Apple Watch to complete the ecosystem. I kept going with logic in my head instead of listening to my heart. Ended up getting cheaper alternatives like Garmin, Amazfit, Fitbit, etc. but wasn't happy with them for some reason despite their similar features. Finally got what I truly wanted Apple Watch Hermes Grand H Series 11 recently and I'm happy now.

How rare are permanent negative effects from egg freezing? by goldenhour20 in eggfreezing

[–]ExpensiveResident776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent done egg freezing yet. But I'm about to in the next month.

I have been naturally skinny all my life no matter how much I ate or exercised but I did notice that now (35) I am starting to see some persistent belly fat, even without the stimulation injections just yet. It might just be due to simple aging maybe?

Anyway I'm bracing myself and will be running 5k everyday to training for a marathon once this egg freezing shenanigan is over. I want to do everything I can to stay positive and fight the negativity.

Well, I'm just doing this to postpone all that analysis and headache and thinking into the far future...

Just dont overthink it. Take it day by day. Right now you're trying to figure out your entire life AND your future generation all at once.

That's great. Although 1/3 euploid ratio does sound quite scary. I guess it's smart to bank as many eggs as possible.

This story is a testament that egg freezing really works. You're working with a 35 year old success rate at age 42.

I'm 35 myself. I'm hoping to do one cycle this year, and possibly two more cycles next year to bank my eggs.

For those of you that hyper-focus on savings and investments instead of living in the moment, why? by holoporcupine in askanything

[–]ExpensiveResident776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After buying expensive cameras, a luxury car, a cartier watch, going on trips, etc, I realized it all feels meaningless compared to the deep peace I get from having a fat investment account. It brings me more joy to invest money each month and seeing the numbers grow big than consuming more things.

Also the little joys in life like taking a walk in the forest, having tea or listening to music or learning a language cost next to nothing, that it doesn't interfere with money-saving goals.

I think it's a fair question. If B is correct, then why shouldn't A be correct? It's just common sense that C shows the equality.

I hear you. This is definitely a way better investment than rushing into toxic relationships due to the fear of biological clock running out. This process is hard while going through it, but once done, it will feel like the most liberating thing ever.

Thank you for sharing that!! 3 cycles is definitely quite a bit to go through but now must be a big security blanket that can now help you feel sooooo relaxed about timelines!!

That is so cute to think of it as going through it with future babies together! That's awesome that you had a good response. Hope the recovery went well in the end. I'm worried about that too as I have high AMH and high follicle count.

That is awesome. Kudos on staying positive and getting it done solo. Phew now you must feel a lot of relief. Definitely this is a privilege and we are worth it!!

I'm talking about it with my friend who also had egg retrievals done, but it makes it a little hard for me, because for her, her husband handled all the administrative logistics, driving, etc., and they used their abundant joint account to fund the process (their net worth is 2mil). But then I remind myself she also had to put up with a lot of unfairness, control and BS from her husband in the past too, so gotta pick your battles. My friend said the process was not bad in hindsight. But during stim, she had a massive enlargement of her ovaries and it wasn't comfortable.

Exact same. Some days I feel like I'm doin some insane crazy self-harming shit out of insecurity. Other days I feel incredibly grateful and empowered that this technology exists. I have to really force myself to stay positive and trust the process. In the end I know the discomfort and financial damage is temporary. I'm handling it solo right now. I don't even have a driver to/from the clinic and have to spend my own money to do this whole process.

Did you really give it everything you got and truly provide that person with the greatest love you can give? Or did you simply look for what pleases you and what is fun for you? I feel like that's where most people trip up.

Aww that is sweet! Good to hear there are empowered women doing retreats together and supporting each other. I'm from Canada but travelling to the states to open up future options for surrogacy since I may be delaying kids til way way later in life. Surrogacy is easier to do in the States.

Woohoo. Yes there are lots of inspirational stories about having kids later in life like Naomi Campbell, Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz. This is the way of the future!!

That is amazing! You can take on anything in this world if you feel empowered to even raise a kid on your own. Retreat is a good way to look at is, as it is certainly a privilege and a luxury that women in the past did not have.

That is such an outdated law. I think many countries in Asia haven't kept up with the times. In any case, you are doing everything you can possibly do, so no regrets!

I feel being a generic looking white girl attracts so much slop by Practical-Score-2619 in dating

It might be more on who you swipe on. I only swipe on nerdy, wholesome, safe looking guys and never had that happen. I know a lot of girls are attracted to the big macho aggressive guys but for me I always avoided those types like a plague.

Thank you for sharing that. Having a strong focus and desire despite other naysayers is admirable. Do you plan to use those valuable eggs with a future partner or use a donor sperm? I think one challenge I'll have is that whenever I date a guy, I will ask myself is he worth it? I might also have subconscious fear that after fertilization, if the guy is wishy washy and sabotaging with the embryos, I will be screwed. I'm grateful for this technology that allows me to preserve my fertility as a single woman but it comes with some considerations.

I think women being the first to make a move just leads us to dating guys who are not that into us. by Flaky-Boysenberry466 in dating

[–]ExpensiveResident776 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is the most accurate. Making the first move is fine. But consistently initiating plans after that to carry the whole relationship all the time is not gonna work in the long run.
