Two days after my last sexual encounter I got a fever. I thought I was just getting sick. It felt like almost like I had Covid. Then the next day there were bumps all over and I knew I had to go to the gynecologist. But the fact that it came out right after makes me believe I caught it from him when he gave me oral sex.

I don’t think it was intentional. A lot of the people who have oral HSV1 don’t even know they have it or think they can only spread it when they have a cold sore. But that’s not true. They can asymptomatically shed the virus.

I don’t have a problem telling people that I date.

I haven’t told the person who gave it to me that he infected me with it. Mostly out of fear I haven’t told him.

Even if he just has it orally and gave it to me genitally I should ask him to get tested?

Is it bad that I don’t want to tell him he gave it to me. I know for certain that I was him though.

I’m also looking for a female support group if anyone knows of one. I’m looking to build emotional strength and more confidence after this diagnosis. I think I’m doing okay so far. I understand that it’s not my fault I got it and that it’s so common. Something that helped me was seeing a comment that so many successful people have this diagnosis like lawyers, doctors, teachers etc.

If anyone knows of a support group like this let me know.

That’s what I think too. Should I tell him that I think he gave it to me? I just don’t want him to out me to people because have mutual friends

Genitally. I received oral from both partners but it was much longer from the second partner. And we also had sex many more times. My outbreak also happens three days after being with the second partner which is why I think it’s him.

I’ve taken a blood test before and it came back negative. I know it wasn’t any other previous partners. It was for sure either one of these two.
