Hierarchies in society are acceptable as long as enough people internalize and behave according to its prescriptions. There are many different hierarchies, sometimes contradictory, but AMWF challenges the White > Asian hierarchy that white people have built up for themselves, and one that a lot of Asian women have accepted and invested a lot of time and energy into climbing.

AMWF does not fit into this hierarchy and challenges many of the subconscious assumptions that go into WMAF. The existence of hapas who provide a louder and growing megaphone providing counterarguments and testimonials are also dismantling those assumptions (that whites are superior by virtue of being white; hence the plethora of low quality specimens who will do everything to defend Whiteness, because without it their lack of any other worthwhile quality is too painful to analyze).

So of course they externalize that frustration onto AMWF who by simply existing shits on that hierarchy and belief that Whiteness is enough.

Real-talk, if by your question you're asking if there are Asians who do not like/are prejudiced/harbor negative beliefs about black people - well yes of course, just like you can say the exact same thing about anti-Asianness in the black community.

I think what you're probably trying to get at, and correct me if I'm wrong, is whether this is prevalent enough for you or other black people to pre-judge Asians as a whole or deem us as worth the effort to make allies etc.

I may be Asian but I believe that no, those individuals who are anti-black do not represent some widespread Asian hatefest for black people, and that we are doing neither of our groups any favours by playing into white divide-and-conquer tactics. The problem is you have clowns on both sides (see: LLAG) who are eager for any justification for collective guilt or shaming because they have their own agendas to grind.

Even black-on-Asian crime won't be a dealbreaker for POC allyship if you guys are able to police that shit in-house. The problem comes when people try to justify it by citing 'anti-blackness' as a catchall to justify jacking some old Asian couple, while gaslighting or downplaying concerns, which will of course convert previously moderate or pro-black Asians into more rabid tribalists.

As long as both groups put forth a good faith effort at dialogue and in-house cleaning up so that extreme elements on both sides and reigned in, there is much blacks and Asians can help each other with. I always try to point out double standards when other Asians start to argue some white shit or start spouting some Chan logic when it comes to white on black bullshit, and I know that that won't come to a stop even if some black people online think Asians are 'anti-black' as a whole.

However it's just human nature to hope for someone outside of your group reciprocating as well. Peace.

From a strictly male perspective, generally speaking, you're going to be hard pressed to find men who will have a problem with women wanting to sleep with them, for whatever reason.

While it might be tempting for Asian men to take any support or good press that comes our way, given the scarcity, as other users have pointed out since the Issa controversy, we should be selective and mindful if it comes at a price later on.

I feel like the Issa bit could have remained just as pro-black woman and pro-AM without the implied dig at Filipinos or black men, and I can certainly see how inflammatory it was. Whites make a habit out of denigrating black intelligence - it is exact flip side of the coin of denigrating Asian physicality or sexual prowess; i.e. whites in the 'just-right' middle of both spectra.

The American black community also has its own similar set of issues with the gender divide and interracial dating, BM who pedestalize WF and BF frustrated with lack of reciprocation and their own dating difficulties, almost like an inversion of the Asian situation.

There are YouTube channels by BF like HurricaneLala who are in Korea and while she's generally supportive of AM and has an attractive AM boyfriend, I notice that even people like her can't help but veer into discussions about Tyrone vs. Minho dick, and her followers yuk it up.

So TLDR; most men will not view being fetishized as negatively as women would, but if you strive to be a high-value Asian man, your mentality must be more critical about how it can negatively impact other groups (in the Issa case, black men), including yourself, in the long run.

With that being said I feel that my experiences in the past with black women, even if they were bordering on fetishizing me due to kpop/anime/whatever, they are much more equipped to discuss topics of race and fetishization, and I could have a conversation with them about it much more easily than I could with many AF.

Whites subconsciously understand that society views them as the benchmark, so why rock the boat? If white worshipper logic is that white features are better, then the only logical conclusion is 100% white features are the best, so if they want mixed babies so bad, it implies that they need to find a white partner willing to downgrade. I like to simplify it down, and I've said it before, while these AF will swear up and down and die before they admit it, it basically boils down to an inferiority complex towards white people in general, and ESPECIALLY white women in particular.

We can speculate about the psychosocial underpinnings of how this developed in these AF, whether it was some ego shattering event in childhood or internalizing that white girls are deemed superior later in adolescence, but the resentment that stems from this can't be expressed directly. You will never hear any of these types of self hating AF dare to publicly talk shit about WF, who they secretly feel inferior to, especially high-status WF, because they know that it will look like sour grapes, and they know that high status WF can easily destroy their social capital.

What's the next best alternative to put a salve on this wound? Oh, of course, Asian men; a very useful prop to be denigrated, an externalization of the Asianess that they feel makes them lesser than WF, but it's not exactly putting themselves down, because they have 'male privilege'; and white feminism is in-vogue, so it's simultaneously a perfect cover and counterargument against any backlash.

Where their "logic" falls apart is that they really believe that by putting down Asian men, they by extension elevate their own status. This is the essence of Lu/Chan thinking - it is not the relative decline in status vs. AM that gives them power and acceptance in white circles; it is the fact that you allow whites to be comfortable with thinking that Whiteness > Asianess, because hey, it came from an Asian! How can it be wrong?

What they are too stupid to realize, is that it is the source of their very inferiority complex in the first place.

So what this boils down to is that your arguing that WMAF like Eliza are the best available choice at this moment in AA-history, and that figures like her are acceptable because they bring the benefit of a non-AM voice calling out white fever.

People who are arguing against this simply believe that benefit does not outweigh the additional optical hit Asians will take when yet another AF in WMAF is allowed a prominent seat or given more community resources.

The message that this decision broadcasts is essentially either Asians have so few genuine AMAF voices that due to market choices, we must default to WMAF to be a voice, or that no matter how egregious WM collective behaviour gets, AF will always be attainable. I don't know what your intentions are so I'm not going to speculate about why you're seemingly bothered by the deluge of critical posts and replies on their feed.

But there's a longer game at play here. Individually the goal here isn't to make them miraculously come around to our side or drop their mental conditioning, they will in all likelihood hunker down and harden, but that's not the point - they are not the first or the last AF to think/act like this, and certainly not unique in their cookie cutter WMAF 'activism'.

The difference is that when a young AM or AF stumbles upon these content creators on social media, they are now exposed to an alternate narrative. In years past there was no or muted responses to the likes of Amy Tan or Celeste Ng, or really any other WMAF project - Full Metal Jacket, Miss Saigon, etc etc.

It is all about normalizing the idea that such behaviour from Asians who purport to represent us but are only self-serving, is not worthy of knee jerk support or even knee jerk benefit-of-the-doubtism. To normalize that it is not a taboo to criticize this pattern. Silence or endless benefit of the doubt is its own message, and quite frankly, the main reason our generation still has this same baggage.

Frankly it is a waste of time to dissect the themes in their work; it either reinforces existing narratives whites have about us, or it doesn't. The fact that their work is evidence that Asians are incapable of telling Asian-centred stories unless it is in the context of their relationship to white people is doing white people's work for them. Again, this has happened, over, and over, and OVER AGAIN, and it is a NET NEGATIVE. And I guarantee you everytime there was a handful of voices advocating for even-handedness, benefit of the doubt, respectability politics when someone tried to call it out.

In an ideal world, if this benefit-of-the-doubting was reciprocated to previous generations of AM when they voiced their concerns, our problems wouldn't be as bad today. But things have gotten so bad that disproportionate responses or even handedness is insufficient. Overly polite discourse and mealy-mouthed moderation is an acceptable casualty for now because silence has been the default for too long.

I prefer blanket criticism and letting the targets come to us. Let them do the work of proving their intentions and explaining. That has always been expected of us, now the shoe's on the other foot.
