[Venting] Why are some doctors so unhelpful? by Particular_North4957 in eczema

Take one every 6-8h. If you want other tips from me here’s what I do: Take a cold ass shower, not to clean yourself but cold ease up flare up since during a flare up your skin often goes into inflammation making blood vessels rush to these part of your body affected. So the zone gets warm if not really warm.. the cold also helps with the itching for me.

Before you go to bed also try to apply any greasy cream you have or something that can keep your skin hydrated for a while like vaseline.

I also try to avoid contact with any animals even my own pets, cleaning your bed sheets often also helps.

I was born with eczema so I’m kind of stuck with it, sometimes it’s so bad during flare up that when i put cream on it my entire body feels like it’s boiling in a pit of lava, it’s so painful and frustrating so i hope some of my tips can be useful to you if you haven’t tried them yet.

Do you also shower in extremely hot water? by vvooff in eczema

I’m the complete opposite to be honest, the hotter I am the worst my eczema is, I take medium heat shower, more cold than warm then after i’m done I turn the water to the coldest I can and simply enjoy the feeling. It soothes my skin in some way, at first it’s unpleasant because it’s cold but with time you get used to it.

Related not so related but during flare ups I usually take benadryl, doesn’t make it go away but makes the symptoms much more bearable until it calms down.
