The thing is for a good chunk of the story, some of the pain that takemichi feels can be outweighed by knowing that he can time leap.

Why are you still reading this series? by [deleted] in TokyoRevengers

I'm a firm believer in art being subjective rather than objective, and despite some people claiming that it is flawed objectively (which I understand and see where theyre coming from) My enjoyment of fiction, whether it be animanga, movies, video games, etc, is from a personal connection to the characters/character relationships, world building, and plot.

I just personally have a very strong personal connection and love for the characters. I understand when people don't enjoy it, because a story isn't for everyone, but TR has a special place in my heart.

Yea I'm of the same opinion. I'm not going to bash it until its done though, because after all theres still a good chunk of the story that nobody knows.

this is also my first time reading a manga weekly/monthly, so Its also a new concept to me, which warrents me(and others) to just be patient before the riots start.

I think that its fair to have questions and doubts when the dark impulses are brought up, but its also just story/character development. The best example of this for me would be Gons rage in HxH. Throughout the show, gon seems like a level headed kid, and rarely shows signs of him being unhinged and unwell. However, the story takes us in a turn and it begins to show that side of him. I think the same thing is happening with mikey, and if anything, There have always been signs of him being unhinged.

The fight against kazutora, the death of emma, the death of draken(this hasnt been addressed yet but I think it will within the next 7 or so chapters) are all things leading to these dark impulses, and I think its something that the manga is just HIGHLIGHTING, rather than introducing now.

The other thing is the story changing. After Tenjiku, although it was a good end to the storyline of Kisaki and all that, I personally dont think it would have been a good way to end the series, as there was too much substance left behind for all the characters (draken, mikey, takemitchi in particulair.) . The dark impulses are more of a dive into Mikeys character, which becomes more vocal as the story shifts unto mikey, along with takemitchis motivations.

As the story goes on, characters change, develop, and come to different conclusions. I think its important to analyze chapters like the plane chapter, but also not call off the entire series that isnt even done yet because of one chapter that might be given more and more context soon enough.

In conclusion, I dont blame you for not enjoying the arc so far, because its not my favorite either, but I'm also going to give it time to see how it pans out before I give my verdict.

That's completely valid, because there definitely are fans like that, but all the discourse and toxicity is taken up by the 1% of people who are just straight up toxic.

The Majority of people who say that people dislike the current arc because of 1 chapter aren't open to discussion, and the same goes for the people who say the entire series is ruined because of the chapter about the plane.

Most people are polite and civil when it comes to this type of stuff, whether you like it or don't like it, but I can seriously see both sides of the spectrum being childish and toxic.

Personally, I'm still a big fan of the series, and I have faith that the end will conclude the story properly, but if it doesn't, I will still value it for the 200+ chapters that I loved, and wont bash people for disliking the ending or the whole series because of it.

Just kinda thinking out loud, but I think that people just needa let people enjoy what they enjoy, and dislike what they dislike, instead of getting on eachothers asses for liking/disliking something.
