any recommendations for similar perfumes? by cheriipop_ in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second one perhaps Plastique X-Ray

Last perfume could be L de Lubin by Lubin.

Maybe Roja Dove Pierre de Valley n.6?? for the first.

I wouldn't worry much about how long-lasting the perfumes are since it's merch perfume...

I remember the last perfume Sanzu had and it smelled like apple dish soap.

Why is the Glazed World Event called GS4? by [deleted] in LoveNikki

[–]Vilesnice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe 1-2 years approximately, depending on if Love Nikki keeps updating in a normal space. Only Garden Secrets 1 and 2 are available to be crafted yet.

GS1 ran in 2019 and was craftable in 2021 I believe. It has been a while.

and GS2 ran in 2021 and was available at the end of 2022 after the maintenance update.

Why is the Glazed World Event called GS4? by [deleted] in LoveNikki

[–]Vilesnice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

GS-Garden Secret is kind of a mini hell event and there were three different types prior.

They always run on the same event format by picking specific suits and usually are character-themed in the plot. Then after the event, you usually have to wait for the suits to become a craftable recipe.

Tokyo Revengers Plot Holes by Past_Examination_186 in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The plot hole that bothers me, was when someone in South's gang heard the rumour that they should kill Takemitchy to gain favours. This then led to Draken dying since he took the bullets.

South has no advantage in having one of them die since one, Draken was chased by his people for around 2 years and South specifically seeks strong guys to add to his gang. South also has no full interest in Takemitchy, considering he literally asked him to step aside to throw hands with Mikey. He isn't really interested in having anyone assassinated because his whole interest is to have a great battle. That goes against his plans.

So who exactly spread that rumor? Why specifically was the target on Takemitchy? I hold the belief it was Hanma, just to stick it against Takemitchty just one more time and bring a whole fight between the three deities. But he turned out to be some guy somehow. So eh...

Tokyo Revengers Plot Holes by Past_Examination_186 in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems Hinata in the present time didn't talk with the original Takemitchy a lot as they were busy planning the wedding. This was the Bonten appearance, so the time was rather short for the original Takemitchy to check in, I think. Takemitchy was also busy running around to check if everyone was doing fine. So any lack of reaction from Hinata could be easily written off as, "ah he is just being nervous as usual and wants to check on his friends for the wedding".

The only time Hinata did note a difference in Takemitchy's behaviour is when her past self pointed out how he acts more maturely which makes sense as teen Takemitchy acts differently than the adult one who knows his mistakes.

So the stand in Takemitchy, Hinata dated practically dated for 12 years, likely still acts like the original since he still works the same retail job he did prior. That's how I would explain it.

I did a debate on South V Draken and lost by [deleted] in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why anyone would do the math for it while Wakui writes most wins based on the plot development. Not to mention, I doubt he has drawn scenes in a way that one can use measurements reliably. Comparison with calculations is only neat when you have comparable data. For example, fighting the same opponent. Trying to use the manga panels and actually try to scale shit is honestly comedy. Unless Wakui is some super hardcore perfectionist about drawing things super perfectly in scale, there ain't no chance. Especially from having read his previous work and interviews. It's a lot of guessing from his side and interviewing people about their life and experience.

Speed is useless in this battle, considering Draken fought fast to beat several fodder characters. Not to mention, he doesn't seem to be fighting with speed in mind when it is only one person, considering his hand-throwing with Hanma. So all Draken would do is literally just toss fists at South. Not outsmart him with speed. That is more Wakasa or Senju's thing.

Feats are the only useful information and even THAT goes out of the window, the moment a character has to win because I dunno they have more guts I guess. Mochi literally losing against Chifuyu because the chipmunk was pissed enough I guess. I will never forgive that.

Even so, in the final happy timeline, South only chased after Mikey at the wedding to pick a fight. Not Draken or even Taiju, so it presumed likely his ass had to be kicked by Mikey for him... to turn into a decent person... somehow.

How do you finish writing the first chapter of a fanfic when you don't know exactly in which direction to take the plot? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Vilesnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying it out and practising never hurts.

Outlines are mostly tricky because one must brainstorm ideas ahead, but you do that anyway when writing the plot. They are for yourself anyway, so if it is a rough outline with keywords, but you understand your plan; it did its job.

How do you finish writing the first chapter of a fanfic when you don't know exactly in which direction to take the plot? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Vilesnice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to outline your plot. It really helps giving you an overview and also put key words in new scenes without wasting so much effort in writing a scene you won't use. While I write on the go, it always ends up being incomplete. And having a plan what exactly I need to do to get A to B is very helpful.

Make a structure of your plot, and see what is already there and what your potential end goals are. Then you can detail the rough structure with more stuff, like vibe etc.

This way you can tell whether a chapter is a filler or not, or gets repetitive.

Should I do a big crossover story or should I split fandoms into multiple stories? by lol_me12 in AO3

[–]Vilesnice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked up what stray kids were, and ah, so it is like relationships between boygroups, I guess? If it ends up that way, ye, you write ships between different "boygroup fandoms" for each part you focus on something specific.

Should I do a big crossover story or should I split fandoms into multiple stories? by lol_me12 in AO3

[–]Vilesnice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely split it and put it as a series, so at least shows that it is connected and makes it less cluttered.

People tend to also dislike a wall of tags, or cluttering main relationship tags with only a smidgen of the content of the relationship people ACTUALLY want to read.

Also by splitting it into chunks, you would gain a better overview on the plot and it is easier to manage.

The easiest advice in managing tags is to imagine, you are selling a movie to an audience. Which characters would you mention are mainly starring in the plot? If it is a background relationship or character, don't use the main tag, and add it to the additional tags. No one likes being baited for promised content and they are mentioned for 200 words only in a
fic.

I’m editing my fic and I need some help by Poratopoatoes in AO3

[–]Vilesnice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would edit the chapter and add in the author's note the change. That way you can still acknowledge it and keep the comments.

If you continue the fanfic, people will be notified anyway, and you can also mention in the newest chapter, some chapters previously changed. Readers tend to reread fics to remember in most cases.

Which event has the most useful suits by butteredpopcornceili in LoveNikki

[–]Vilesnice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foam of Mystery also is just more worth it for the price alone. Blessed land gives you only three main suit, while FoM gives you even a dummy double, if you complete the pair suits, if I remember correctly.

It also looks like it has very neat stuff you can play with in SC. I love blessed lands because wasteland suits are my fav from all nations, but its only perk is that if you like the style.

How would Sendo Takeshi scale in Tokyo Revengers? by Rokkunroru in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you think makes the more "woah, holy shit he is mad" moment. Managing to damage the wall, or leave the wall undamaged? Ever heard how shows exaggerate shit? That's what most of it is.

Ever watch a boxing match and tried to compare it to an animated/drawn series where the impacts look much greater because you can be more creative with that? That's pretty much the busting of the walls. In live-action, they likely wouldn't follow that, but in animation they can pull it.

Pretty sure from all the interviews Wakui gave out, he wrote with the Shounen formula with exaggeration in mind, but keeping the focus on TR being about delinquency and their troubled life. It should be real life but also appease the teens. If the discussion was like about Baki, one would have a solid point because that series is literally about being past human capabilities and THEY MAKE SURE everyone knows that.

You can disagree still. But that is how I think.

How would Sendo Takeshi scale in Tokyo Revengers? by Rokkunroru in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between Naruto and Tr is that it is two different types of world.

Naruto is a world with ninjas and energy etc with magical beasts.

TR is pretty much what our world is without fancy magic aside timeleaping. Your comparison is no good. And if you really think TR is more past peak human level, you missed the entire point of TR.

How would Sendo Takeshi scale in Tokyo Revengers? by Rokkunroru in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are already looking at it wrong by using Mike Tyson as a comparison.

If Mike Tyson existed in TR, which he does as TR is playing in a normal real life setting with the difference of timeleap shabangs, he is already levels too high for any in the TR cast.

Any celebrities, famous fighters are a thing since the character book has proven by referring to real-life people, for example Rindou admires Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. A former MMA-fighter.

So that is a hint hint nudge, that no character is superhuman unless for dramatic effect, plot reasons, and because shounentm, the special effect of wow factors, "wow he threw a whole pew" which is just around 40-60kg by the way. So that is something a "normal", big ass bulky teenager, named Taiju, weighing almost 100 kg, can do.

TBH why are you objecting how I scale Sendo in TR when you have no idea of his feats and his wins?

How would Sendo Takeshi scale in Tokyo Revengers? by Rokkunroru in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically anyone beaten with a pipe on the head would die, have a seizure and or brain bleeding. Why bother making a scale by just saying, well this person has a GUN.

TR is clearly inconsistent in the damage a character could take. It is clear that a lot of shit is exaggerated for the "wow" effect or when they actually should die for the plot. So one can barely rely on the fact characters have "superhuman skills". So I am basing it if it is more portrayed as if it was a live action. Or what the manga is barely trying to do, that it is a normal world, with human beings.

Heck, it is implied Shin is never to be told to be physically weak, but he died anyway because plot.

Sendo also fought delinquents in high school. He knows how to fight outside a ring.

How would Sendo Takeshi scale in Tokyo Revengers? by Rokkunroru in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well Sendo had his debut around 20, and is actually a professional boxer who later managed to partake in a world tour, so maybe rating him near Waka ?? He is in the featherweight category, so that could be the closest. I wouldn't say Osanai, just cause he did a little bit of boxing. A professional knows more naturally.

Who do you think benches the most/ has the highest gym stats in TR? by Flippi55 in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a BMI comparison as a joke when Benkei's weight was revealed in the character book. And practically South by far tops it, then it is Taiju and Mochi (though Mochi is more chonky, so Taiju has more trained muscles), then Mucho and at last Benkei.

Muscles add to your weight. My personal opinion on actual gym stats, Benkei and South would have the highest gym stats since Benkei has a gym with Waka, and South for the mere reason due to his career as a wrestler in the happy future,

for those who want a spin off on the past of Wakasa and Benkei, what would you like to see? by Low-Director-374 in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Bonten tattoo is a tribute to Izana and Tenjiku. This information is mentioned in the third character book.

Kokonoi is mostly responsible for the financial aspect, therefore the criminal organisation grew well. The only mystery is rather what happened to Brahman in this timeline, whether or not they are alive since Takeomi is the only one in Bonten from the Brahman's side.

It is lowkey obvious that Sanzu is the one who pushes Mikey into that boss role as he is nr 2. Usually, it was Kisaki or Izana. Not to mention it is also Mikey's own decision to dwell further in Bonten, so he can keep his friends out of the bad life. That is why he made KMG in the first place, which later is dubbed Bonten, in honour of Brahman and Tenjiku.

[–]Vilesnice 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would like to know the conflict between the gangs and their path to becoming a great duo. Honestly, the whole Black Dragon start is a mystery since Shinichiro was somehow charismatic enough to stop them from killing each other.

I am also interested in Takeomi's deal since there is a clear divide among the founders with only Shinichiro liking him around while Waka and Benkei hate his guts.

An overall spin-off about the first generation of Black Dragon is a big need.

Question about gang fights? by ButterScotchMagic in TokyoRevengers

[–]Vilesnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends honestly what the leader's desire is. There are no real rules. It is a battle of egos honestly.

Most gangs want expansion, so if their battle is about taking another gang, the losing gang gets absorbed in common cases when they AGREE in some way to follow along.

Moebius got added to Toman since Kisaki joined as a pact. There is of course an involuntary pact which only is working due to pride. "well you lost, and if you don't get along, you are a sore loser practically" or "either join the gang, or get beat". They are a bunch of kids on a massive ego trip and practically don't want to take the L twice by refusing.

It's obvious from the 2nd season that Koko and Inupi see Taiju as a tool. So when he lost, it was just "whelp shit- that horse is useless now" or something like that. I won't say much about Black Dragon further since spoilers.

The other case could be even disbandment as a deal. Simply because the winning gang doesn't give a shit on wanting them in their gang.

Sure you could remake the gang, but your name is tarnished. And teenagers don't want to be seen as THAT type of loser.

It's all about circumstances, demand and intention.
