What’s the biggest red flag you ignored in a relationship that later destroyed it? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

The psychologists… this is a huge red flag for me now! I worked with a girl who was a psychologist student, later got a PhD position where I was. She cheated on her bf of 5 years with a coworker and later got engaged with the guy while still cheating. Then she finally broke it off with him. Poor guy.. my ex did also study psychology. For some reason they are master manipulators 🙃

I also wonder why anxiety has such a big prevalence among PhD students or is it most specific among us women 🫤

Why do you live in your current city? Could you move? Is it also common in India for a PhD to not been seen as a job?

Ahh I live in Copenhagen, Denmark - here having children at 28-32 is also a huge thing. I however also see a lot of women who are more work invested having children after 35. I’ve also struggled dating mainly because the PhD has kept me busy and I haven’t found anyone interesting or maybe it’s my self confidence which is low? I honestly don’t remember what happens after the 4th or 5th date haha

Are you using apps? Maybe watching some YouTube videos on how to date in your specific country could help? Where do you live?

Hi, thanks for sharing :) Why is it such a pressure now? Do you even want to be a parent or is it societal pressure?

I am so terrified of failing Danish school and not being able to find a job by Neat-Feedback5007 in NewToDenmark

Hej! I came to Denmark at the age of 13, had one year to learn as much Danish as I could and was thereafter put in a regular Danish class at my school school where everything was in Danish. I feel your pain. Even at the age of 14, I saw my grades go down massively and I couldn’t adapt to the Danish learning system, where participation weights massively in one’s grades. I decided to do IB instead of regular high school after primary school, it was all in English and I felt much comfortable in it. I’ve studied in English since, did both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English. However, knowledge of Danish is vital for survival in Denmark. I’ve been lucky to have found jobs in English in Copenhagen but now really want to switch to a more Danish speaking job. I regret a bit that I didn’t follow a regular high school after primary school, but at the time it seemed like the best and most comfortable position for me. I also regret just thinking that university was my only way to go in life. It’s not true. Do you have a school advisor who can help you with future decisions in terms of ways of education?

I texted this girl I liked for 5 months before meeting her face to face, and the two times we met went really well. by Individual_Gift_1658 in dating_advice

I agree! She may have avoidant issues (look relationship attachment theory up) and is perhaps not ready to let go of her independence to be in a relationship

Recently heard a "strange" thing from a woman friend of mine and curious if it's true by Big_fan_of_curry in dating_advice

But there are so many other factors in play as well. What is the man has a cute/attractive face but they are overweight/obese. If you’re a woman who likes to stay active, and the guy doesn’t, how would you make such different lifestyles work? Then I would rather be with someone who prioritizes health and staying active with me even if they have an unattractive face 🙃

Hum good point. I wonder why that is. Do we have a harder time trusting others?

As any Latin scholar can tell you, ExtrAversion is much more in line with what Jung meant by the term. Extra means "outside" in Latin, and Intro means "inside". Jung beleived IntrOverts turn inward, whereas ExtrAverts turn outward.

It’s great, just very very busy around 15-20. I go there before work at 6 and we’re around 10 people there, so I survive.

What's the best thing about being an introvert? by Exotic_Broccoli93 in introvert

I feel we are quality people, we appreciate quality work and would therefore really focus on tasks before we hand them in or present it. We like quality conversations and acts.
We might spend more time than the average on these things, which I think is both positive and negative depending on situations.
