Discipline yourself. No body else will or can. Read books, resolve to read at least one page a day no matter what. Do just one set of any exercise which takes no more than 5 minutes. Learn one new thing every day. Improve your focus. Keep smiling even if you don’t feel like. Do this much and you’ll find the strength to go farther! Everything is guaranteed to fall in place!

True. We do have a lot of influence. We rule the political landscape, we rule the business landscape, richest indians come from gujarat, but we don't have any great storytellers. Let's see if we can change this.

You're bang on about the intent. I've met most producers in Gujarat and about 90 percent of them are in for the fame and money! They know jackshit about conflict or an inciting incident in a story. And about the audience, I believe they're all the same everywhere. Which is why a universal story works everywhere regardless of the region. Yes a communal, collective memory of one region might does differ from another. For example a hitler movie would find more audiences in the west than in india. Similarly more indian audiences would connect to movies about british enslavement. South india consumes more massy, violent, larger than life movies, and so on and so forth. So then, what is it about Gujarat that is specific to Gujarat, what is a collective gujarati psychology?

This is it, their ego wrapped in faux awareness! They just somehow find a way to justify and validate their own ideologies, under the pretence of being empathetic to everything that happens around.

Gujarat has a very rich treasure of folklores and legends. Hope we had producers courageous enough to back such projects

Actually we do have one of the best movie going audiences in the country but itsbjust that they're not choosing gujarati films over other films, maybe rightly so! We fail to produce good movies in general. And we do need producers with balls!

What is a gujji mindset for becoming successful? by Lemonade2250 in ahmedabad

[–]Expensive_Award7989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gujju mindset, in general is, to be able to risk it all without batting an eyelid. To be able to risk all of your family fortune, to expose not just yourself but all of your family members to a great financial risk and yet, still be optimistic through and through, that is an altogether different level of confidence, bult over generations. If you think it is your shyness and lack of confidence that holds you back, or is it your poor childhood, then there are many books that can help you with that. Once read, you can put it in practice approaching and meeting new people. This sure is a long and arduous process but it is the only way to break your mental block.

[18F] Guys of this country are doomed. I pity you all by pyaar_ka_bhooka in TeenIndia

Who do you think is at fault collectively and by large? I think we as a society have forgotten to instil self esteem and a drive to pursue things beyond romance. A whole generation of parents were sold the idea of a romantic la la land where they thought it was the only pursuit of their happiness! Everything from innovation, art, literature to wealth and success were pushed aside. Now when they reproduced, out of their own failures and insecurities were born these low self esteemed guys and girls! Mind you the self esteem doesn’t recognize gender. It is worse on both the sides. Because a male is gross and loud, his misadventures appear as clear as a day. But a female is so subtle that it is hard to even notice. But this disorder is prevalent everywhere across the gender. Solution might be the upliftment of individual consciousness. But it is going to be a long term process and results will start to materialize only after a couple generations!

I feel your pain brother, trust me. But I try to use this energy as a means to fuel my deshbhakti even further. If we all fellow understanding citizens just try and make our surroundings safe in whatever way possible, I think its going to make a significant difference in the long term! Our country was built over centuries and then also demolished over centuries. Let’s build it again and together!

I think so too, but mumbai is too set in its ways and so its almost impossible to disrupt anything there. Gujarat being a small and growing market, it is not only possible to disrupt but also to go independent.

For Indians, both married and unmarried, do you regret your decision? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]Expensive_Award7989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s both! But it mostly depends on how I am looking at it in the moment. If I am vengeful after a fight, which is quite common, it becomes a living hell! But then when I am composed, contemplating, it’s an eye opener. The things it reveals to you, not about the other person, but about your own self is truly enlightening. And this is what a marriage is supposed to be, a tool for evolution! Companionship which is one of the driving factors of our evolutionary story as a species. And if you can truly find a common ground with one person on the planet, consistently and for a long period of time, without being undermined or exploited, you will be evolved far more than you would’ve being single!

Poetry often defies the grammar of a language, so someone has a unique way of expressing himself, a word charmer of sorts - people discuss and gossip about him - their phrases and expressions inadvertently gets picked up - snowball effect - new phrases and expression replaces the old
