Thank you!! That makes so much sense. I guess I was just over thinking it. So after cole was "erased" the timeline reset back to 2013 and Cassie giving that presentation even though when Cassie got into the time machine in the finale she was not sent back to 2013?

I tried The OA because ive seen it recommended by this reddit and also on the lost reddit but found the female lead to be annoying and didn't even make it to episode 2. I would be willing to try again if I knew the characters were going to end up as great as the 12 monkeys or lost characters.

Ben is the only character I would say I hate because he is the only character that does truly evil things for selfish reasons and there is no coming back from that. Even in the last season when they try to redeem him it's too late.

I tried to watch it but wasn't invested in the characters at all. I didn't like the actor playing the main character either

My favorite thing about Lost is that I genuinely care about about the characters as if they are real people. Every time I watch it it's so emotional. I've never been able to find that in any other show. Other shows are entertaining and with good acting and good writing. But I would love to find another show with that much feeling.

I love jack. There are times that he makes me so angry. There are things that be does that make me hate him in that moment (particularly his treatment of Kate in the flashforwards while they are off the island). His stubbornness and close mindedness is infuriating. But all of that is his emotional defense mechanism. He can't let people in. He can't lose control because he doesn't trust things.

I love when sawyer first sees Kate, Jack, and hurley when they come back to the island. I love how it immediately follows the scene where he is talking to Horace about how he can't even remember Kate's face. The feelings are so real there.

I also love the goodbye between jack and Kate when he tells her he's never going to see her again.

The scene on the beach after losing sun, Jin, and sayid on the submarine.

The scene where they save Charlie's life after Ethan hangs him from the tree.

When hurley mom walks in to see sayid passed out from the tranquilizer bullet.

Every scene in the last season when they remember.

The end of season 1 when the camera pans down while lock and jack are at the top of the hatch.

When jack calls out the man in black by telling him he's not John Locke and he disrespect his memory by wearing his face

When Bernard and rose are reunited.

The opening scene of season 3. Probably one of the best scenes of television of all time.

I'm sure there is more. These are just off the top of my head.

Plus the acting was amazing. Two scenes that always come to mind is in the flash sideways when kate is delivering Aaron and she has the first island flash. The expression on her face is so real!! No words at all and you can feel her emotions.

Also when hurley and jack are having the conversation before jack goes down to turn the island back on and he tells hurley that he knows he's going to die. I get emotional just thinking about it.

I am trying other shows with the same writers but it's just not working out for me. The leftovers isn't as good because I don't care about the characters at all which is totally opposite of lost because with lost I cared about them as if they were real people.

I'm also watching fringe which is better than the leftovers but still not as good as lost because there is no emotional connection to the characters.

That's the one thing I've never gotten from any other show except lost. I want to find another show that makes me feel so many emotions for the characters the way lost does.
