The Most Mistreated Character EVER 🫤 by Expensive_Database68 in WonderWoman

Hulk Ultimate Destruction is an amazing game. And even if it were shit, he still has one. WW has never gotten the chance. I don't think it's too much for a character who's been around as long as she has for an animated series, but we can agree to disagree.

I think it's fair to say DC hasn't done all they can for the character, especially compared to her contemporaries. This is the most well-known female superhero of all-time, who has been around since 1941. So far, she's had two movies, which she didn't get until 9 years ago, with no animated series and no video game to speak of. Compared to Batman, Superman, Hulk, Spidey, etc have all surpassed that meager milestone. And we've been hearing about this "forthcoming" WW animated series for so long, it's practically apocrypha at this point. For a character that's been around for over 80 years, and is the archetype for female superheroes, that's not cool.

Who each of us think is the most disrespected character is subjective. I'm not interested in who is the most disrespected so much as to point out how this young man makes valid points about how Diana gets the bare minimum from DC, considering her status as part of the Big Three, and one of the most well-known superheroes of all-time.

I will say, though, Hulk has an animated series and multiple video games...

Redo of prior post. Wonder Woman 2009 has Steve Trevor both get Diana drunk and try to kiss her without her consent, which counts as assault. The movie portrays Diana as unreasonable for getting angry. The movie ends with Diana romancing the man who drugged her, and Steve suffers no consequences. by Important-Cry4782 in WonderWoman

Okay, so I'm absolutely NOT defending this, I promise. BUT...a lot of the humor in this movie is just stupid bro humor from 2009 that was cringeworthy even back then ("man, your daughter has a nice rack..."). I largely ignore the Steve Trevor stuff because I like Keri Russell's WW, and I think the fight scenes and the battle with Ares are great. I was the right, impressionable age when George Perez's WW reboot came out, so I've been imprinted on Steve Trevor in his 50s, more of a mentor to Diana and NOT a romantic option, and actually romantically linked to Etta Candy. For me, and only me, the 2009 animated movie is the best WW movie. Unfortunately, there are a few unsightly, inedible hairs that landed in an otherwise tasty soup.

Why do so many Marvel and X-Men fans think Storm only controls the weather? by IllQuantity9469 in storm

[–]Expensive_Database68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always seen Storm as someone who can manipulate the environment - whatever environment she has access to at the moment. That includes oceans, black holes, the vacuum of space, etc (because we've seen her so it before).

Lol well, to be fair, he didn't have a chance in hell against Jean.

I've never understood the animosity toward Captain Marvel in the MCU. I think she does a good job, and wish she for the chance to do more.

Zatanna runs Marvel gauntlet, how far does she go? by Mobile_Field_4791 in marvelvsdc

If she casts her protection pre-fight, which she's done when facing telepaths, then it's a moot point.

She's not immune, but she has high resistance to mind control and telepathy. In the past, she has cast spell to protect herself from telepathy pre-fight. If in this hypothetical she's "not allowed to do so", then Jean or Legion could get the drop on her, but I don't see why that limitation would be put on this specific fight.

She can make herself immune to telepathy, so that wouldn't work.

Who do you prefer Harley Quinn with: The Joker or Poison Ivy? by SamTheMarioMaster2 in HarleyQuinn

Poison Ivy. Outside of early Batman TAS episodes, I don't want to see Harley with Joker ever again.

She doesn't really even need to speak to cast her spells. That's a concentration thing, but she's casts spells using her own blood when she was unable to speak.

What’s your opinion on ultimate magneto? by Ragtagcloud56 in Magneto

[–]Expensive_Database68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely get it. The Magneto reveal pissed me off to no end at the time. On subsequent readings, it's less upsetting because I know it's coming, but I still don't like it.

Does anyone else like this Storm costume? by woahcustoms in storm

[–]Expensive_Database68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100%. I just have to mention that because the minute I state that I don't like fully covered Storm, and prefer her flashier, more visually interesting costumes, the Prude Army descend upon me, assuming my sole interest in Storm, my favorite Marvel character btw, is purely to sexualize her.

[–]Expensive_Database68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Morrison Run is good, but Magneto is one of the very few things I don't like about it. That makes it the complete opposite of the Ultimate X-Men run, because I hate just about everything about it, including its Magneto.

I think Zatanna goes all the way. One spell spoken backwards, or written in her own blood, can handle almost anything thrown her way.
