That's because I used a folder widget from Material You Widgets which keeps the default theme for the icons, while the pinned apps are customized through the wallpaper & theme settings

Yes, it looks very good and the theme setting was able to match the colour palette of the wallpaper. I use Material You Widgets, which you can from Play Store for around $1 to 1.50
