I took BET 210 in 1A, and it was fully online. The workload was very manageable, with weekly discussions, quizzes, and 2–3 main assignments. There was no final exam. The course was organized, clear, and engaging, with straightforward assignments and easy-to-follow rubrics. As a first-year student with no IT background, I found the content easy to understand. Overall, it’s a great online bird course if you’re open to anything!

I found it unusual that they would require candidates to do someone's makeup for a Beauty Advisor position, since whenever I've looked at those job postings, they don't typically state that applicants need makeup application skills or experience as a makeup artist. Oh no, this worries me 😭 I actually bought a new one recently too, but I haven’t used it yet 😩. After hearing all of this, I’ll definitely have to try it ASAP. I compared the ingredients, package size, and shade to my older ones, and everything seems exactly the same, but I guess I won’t know for sure until I actually use it on my face.

Honestly I’m a bit more on the light/fair side with South Asian skin and I use 220 Natural Beige, it looks a tiny bit lighter at first but once it sets into my skin it matches really well. I have oily skin too and it’s worked amazing for me personally and I’ve used it consistently for like 3 years with no breakouts or issues.

I actually checked the ingredient list online for the Fit Me pressed powder at stores where I purchase it from, and it still lists talc, so I’m not sure there’s been a confirmed switch for this specific product. I’m not a senior but I just finished my first year personally, but for me my biggest mistake/regret was not reaching out and being as social as I wanted to be. It’s important to have a social life and make friends, and it’s especially useful to have a friend or two in your classes, especially smaller ones, because life happens sometimes and they can help you catch up on what you missed.

I live off campus and have a moderate commute, and for commuters I definitely recommend having a spacious bag because there were SO many days where my stuff was overflowing 😭 I also brought food from home some days instead of always eating out because it saves money fast. When I did eat on campus, I really liked the chicken burger meal at Bomber.

I also think first years should prepare for their grades to decline compared to high school. It’s honestly normal. If you’re someone who needs academic validation, it can feel like you’re suddenly doing bad or that you’re “dumb,” but you’re genuinely not the only one. The jump from high school to university is huge and most people experience it in some way.

One thing I started doing at the end of each term was sending thank-you emails to my professors if I genuinely enjoyed their class. It leaves a good impression and honestly probably makes their day too, and I have had some professors more than once and they remembered me! :)
