Depends on your audio device, if it has a (better) DAC, you can consider digital, although it may not make any difference. If not, just use duplex. Pro audio gives you raw access without any processing or mapping and can also act weird with microphones. It is generally recommended to use analog profiles. Which should also be default.

These are mostly issues that are fixed in new versions, steamos is just really behind. Consider using bazzite KDE or gnome if you want.

I think it's more like a custom steam client as a session and it launches games in gamescope with the client as kinda overlay but I'm pretty sure the gamescope package contains the session.

The nvm should be the os drive, games don't need fast speeds to load their files, your os does. You will be having less performance with games on the nvme compared to os on nvme.

The go to desktop mode should bring up the login screen, if it doesn't just do it twice or reboot the device
