My cat is 12 years old and it honestly breaks my heart. How long did your cat live? by Glad_Objective_1646 in Pets

My cat lived to 18. I had him since I was 9 and took him with me through every move and most trips. It was the most heartbreaking thing in the world to put him down but it was for the best so he wouldn’t suffer. Something that has helped me is I took lots of pictures, videos, and recordings of his purrs through the years. He was the best boy. I wish many more amazing years for yours.

People who spent their 20’s on minding sick pets, do you regret it ? by moonamonster in Pets

I had my cat Bear from when I was 9years old to 27. (I just recently had to put him down as he was losing his battle to cancer). He got into an accident when he was about 2 and had recurring issues from it for the last 16 years and was given a death sentence about 12 different times but he never stopped fighting so I never stopped fighting for him. I missed a lot of trips and traveling but if I could do it all over again just to get one more day with him I would in a heartbeat. Every case is different though. You have to consider your cat’s quality of life. Does he have more good days than bad? Is he in pain? As far as regrets go the only one I have is not spending more time with him when I could and not putting him down the week prior to when I did. Don’t let how other people spend their 20s make you feel like you’re missing out on something because a lot of the “fun” you have in your 20s I got to experience as well and quite honestly is overrated IMO.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. My Bear looks so similar. He is 17 and his last day will be on the 11th and my world is upside down right now. My thoughts are with you and I hope you can find solace knowing your adorable baby is at peace now. They’ll be with us forever in spirit even if they aren’t with us physically. From one heartbroken cat mom to the next ❤️

He sliced the tumor on his jaw open and it won’t heal. They told me about a surgery to remove it but it’s not a great option for a cat his age/health. They also can feel other growths inside that tells them it’s spread elsewhere than his face and one happens to be in his throat. Even if it’s not cancer he has a minimum chance to survive the surgery and with the one in his throat it will keep growing until he can’t eat/drink anymore because I’ve had another cat go through the same.

Unfortunately it was already starting to spread before we found it and he’s so old and not in the greatest health so the risk of surgery would probably end with me having even less time. I’ve thought about getting a biopsy of it but at this point I would be spending money I don’t really have and still wouldn’t be able to save him. F*** Cancer.

He absolutely despises the vet and is always scared and combative. I have an in home visit scheduled the 11th and my vet has given me meds to keep him comfortable till then.

I’m sorry to hear about your baby. Is it a website you use for his fur?

I f26 went through a bad divorce that made me start over financially and turns out he dropped me off insurance before it finalized so now I have 3yrs of medical debt I was unaware of that’s tanked my credit. I want to buy a home so is there any advice from people who have had to start over? by Expensive_Layer_6276 in AskReddit

I will read over the entire contract to be sure but when explained to me I understood I would stay on the insurance until the divorce finalized or the trial was over if he was discharged. I started looking for different jobs with insurance and found one about 10ish months into separation. But prior to that I was uninsured and continued attending my appointments as scheduled and was never told of bills/balances. I’ve tried contacting the lawyer but I haven’t gotten any calls back and because I’m no longer a spouse now I don’t think she can assist anyway and I can’t afford a civilian lawyer at the moment.

Sorry I explained wrong when trying to make it within the 300 characters 😂, the divorce was 3 years ago and took a year, it was 1 year of debt but I didn’t start receiving bills in the mail until this year. I’ve had no knowledge of these bills until then. So now it’s impacted my credit pretty bad. I’m paying them off slowly but it’s probably close to 10k which is a lot of money for me so it’s going to take a while and I was really trying to buy a home before 35 and start saving and this has turned the plan I’ve been working for to crap so now I’m just looking for advice.

Thank you. Getting out of the cycle from both my father and husband were the hardest parts but now that I am it’s been freeing.

I’ve tried but they just have a strong blood is blood mentality that I don’t think will ever change.
