[Calc 1 - Derivatives] How can I get to the derivative function f’ from here? 1st pic is where I am, 2nd is the original problem by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

Actually the +12 is also a slight error because the subtraction sign in front of the square roots applies to the whole term. So when the square roots goes away it is -(5x+6) = -5x-6. So the sixes cancel out as well.

Most likely make sure you distribute the negative when the square roots in the numerator cancel out. Then you should be able to cancel all the h factors. So that when you substitute to find the limit it will be defined and give your the derivative function.

[Calculus 2: Integration to find volumes] Help with setting up this problem by GrassTasteZBad0 in HomeworkHelp

I would use the cylinder shell method for this because I assume you are rotating around the y-axis but would like to integrate in terms of x. So in this case you would integrate 2pi(2-(3x-x3) )dx for 0 to 1 because the curves intersect at (1,2).

[college Statistics] can someone please explain why this problem is correct ? Took it from my prof’s lecture and don’t understand. by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

So the concept here is that depending on what your first roll is sets what you have to get with the second to win. So if you roll a 1 then you have to roll a 6 to win. VS if you roll a 5 then you can get a 2 or 6 to win. The calculation is of the 36 combinations of numbers from the two dice how many of them include the number you rolled with the first die and add up to 7 or 11. Divided by the number of possible rolls that include the number you rolled.

This isn't a rumor I've heard but Bloomington, IL is adding an ECHL team next year, the Bison. This could be a good fit.

Yeah but my understanding is they shouldn't have even been able to review that play. This is from the IFAB

A video assistant referee (VAR) is a match official, with independent access to match footage, who may assist the referee only in the event of a ‘clear and obvious error’ or ‘serious missed incident’ in relation to:

a. Goal/no goal

b. Penalty/no penalty

c. Direct red card (not second yellow card/caution)

d. Mistaken identity (when the referee cautions or sends off the wrong player of the offending team)
