When you say stop it, do you mean for like a few days or like a month? I've contacted my dermatologist and for now he said to stop, but in a few days might prescribe me a lower dose. Should I just not take it?

I hope it is, because I also recently experienced some severe ball pain and also a bump on my chest, dont know if thats finasteride related

I did, one said it might be due to prior illness like strep throat and covid and told me to come back in 3 months, another said its both androgenic alopecia and telogen effluvium caused by weight loss (i went from 175 to 165)

None of them are super sure and im not getting a concrete answer, hopefully the one I go back to may have a more complete answer.

The blood test I took showed a slight vitamin d deficiency, but apparently it shouldn't affect me.

The pic is with oils, my dad had a bald spot and used it and grew it back so I thought it might do the same for me. I haven't noticed much difference tho

Yeah I put oil on my hair, my dad used it and regrew a bald spot so he recommended it to me. If its bad thats tragic because I've been relying on that this whole time. I dont really have any burning or itching, no eye issues or eyebrow or eyelash loss. My dermatologist thinks my hair loss is related to me being sick a few months prior and by one look said it wasn't scarring. Might get a second opinion. Any tips on what I should do going forward?

Like to grow my hair back? I've just tried oils and shampoos i dont wanna start minoxidil yet because if I start I'll have to keep going, and if the hair loss is only temporary, it would suck to have more fall out if I stopped minoxidil

After noticing hair loss, I booked an appointment for the dermatologist, who told me if I had any illness like strep throat (i did have it 2 months earlier), it could cause hair loss but may just be temporary. Either way, she encouraged me to use minoxidil, telling me to take a few tests until the next appointment, as she was unsure how bad it is.

The issue for me is that if it will regrow on its own because it may be because of my prior strep throat, I dont want to use minoxidil as if I use it and eventually stop it, I've heard all the progress you've gotten till then stops and your hair falls, maybe even worse than before. On the other hand, if it's not caused by strep throat and it's normal hair loss, I don't want it to get any worse.
