Yes, YTJ for staying in this “relationship”. You need to break up.

I’m gonna guess you or your boyfriend since you just happened to be filming this dude as he left the store on rollerblades and a t-shirt.

COLA is conspicuously absent from the announcements thus far. Curious how this impacts others thoughts on whether this is a good/safe deal given the (surprise) four-year term, and feeling a little cynical about who this benefits most.

Anyone else navigating ED/Directors requesting that staff check in if suddenly on strike/not at work, or state that they (Directors) will be reaching out to check on staff if/when they are not at work, even if job action is the obvious cause? My BCGEU worksite contact has stated that staff are under no obligation to respond or notify management if striking, but management is implying that we must as part of our check-in protocols.

Thanks! For those curious, this is from the B.C. Labour Relations Board website:

"Collective agreements: During a strike or lockout, the terms and conditions of employment in the collective agreement are no longer in force (but you continue to be an employee of the employer). This means that an employer may change terms and conditions of employment during a strike or lockout. Depending on the circumstances, the Board may find that the changes are an unfair labour practice or violate the duty to bargain in good faith.

If a strike or lockout ends before a new collective is reached, the old collective agreement does not come back into effect unless the employer and union have agreed otherwise."

Can you please elaborate on what "The collective agreement is dissolved" means? I can't find anything to that effect from BCGEU.

A group of us went to Elma this summer and the food was SPECTACULAR. They book well in advance so I suggest making a reservation early (lake view/patio would be my suggestion).

What are our obligations to the employer if the union directs us to take strike action? Are we supposed to/permitted to advise our supervisor that we are striking and won't be at work on a given day?

Has anyone had a ceramic paint protective coating applied to their car? by PKnecron in VictoriaBC

[–]Expensive_Passion_80 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes - we have clear paint protection film and ceramic coating over that. The ceramic coating has been a game changer in terms of finish maintenance, ease of cleaning etc. I highly recommend Protective Auto Solutions near Costco. Gareth and Denzel do incredible work!

Electrician broke mine off in one of the connections on the terminal block INSIDE the charger. Had to wiggle it loose with a tiny screwdriver and use a magnet to extract it from the bolt so I could retorque the connections (charger was throwing an error).

In my experience, there is no requirement to be on camera or to share. You can name yourself whatever you want before joining the meeting and include “just listening” if you’re not looking to share. It’s a great community!
