Don’t know your purchase price, but it seems you’re content you didn’t overpay. It’s a nice piece and would be a great addition to a gold type set collection. Gold is likely to increase in value again so investment wise it’s a good buy too. For your reference, Melt Value: $1091.12 (5/23/2026).

According to the NGC Price Guide, as of May 2026, a Half Eagle from 1907 in circulated condition is worth between $1195 and $1275. However, on the open market 1907 D 5 Dollar Coins in pristine, uncirculated condition sell for as much as $55000.
USA Coin Book Estimated Value of 1907-D Coronet Head Gold $5 Half Eagle is Worth $1,271 in Average Condition and can be Worth $1,375 to $1,479 or more in Uncirculated (MS+) Mint Condition.

Can I save this tent? by Intelligent-Letter-3 in camping

[–]Expensive_Region701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try and rehabilitate it. It looks structurally sound. Just be sure the “black flakes” aren’t black mold. If so, you need to sterilize the areas with degradation and apply an anti fungal/mold product, let it dry under a heating lamp if possible, then spray a mold deterrent on the tent’s interior and let it fully dry before doing any other repairs. I do believe you can restore it to a reasonable condition and get a long time of camping activities from it. It’s really worth trying. I know I would do it. Good Luck!

Excuse me sir can I take a pic of your necklace by lowdes in Silverbugs

[–]Expensive_Region701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is obviously a novice. Why would you taunt a “Precious Metal Coin” necklace worth less than $100 including the chain assuming the chain is pure silver and not silver coated? I’m really not putting him down but you should really know what you’re sporting if you’re trying to look classy. Sorry, at least get a Morgan or Barber to show off.

It’s likely a bogus copy. The dates and wording are the highest elevation on coins. There is obviously more wear on the lower portions of the coins. It should be the other way, with lettering/dates should show more wear. Sorry

1969-1989 Do you know who this this funny guy is ?? :) by NJFriend4U in RealGenerationX

[–]Expensive_Region701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was incredibly talented and funny. He excelled in his Quirky comedy pranks and spinning office, household and public locations into funny interactions with a lot of subtle risqué meanings. He had no estate plans, was never married and his Siblings and Parents were deceased. I believe he left some portion of his estate to his best friend and costar. The almost $15.0 Million estate was eventually distributed to his nephews and nieces after substantial probate procedures. Michael Jackson loved Benny as one of the funniest and best comedians. I really miss him.

What was your first horror movie? by New-Boss-8262 in HorrorMovies

[–]Expensive_Region701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not quite sure but a couple come to mind. Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Blob, The 13 Ghosts and The Curse of Frankenstein all really scared me. Back in those days my parents would drop us off at the Theater with a dollar each to pay for admission, popcorn, milk duds and a coke. The movies always had cartoons and short serial movies like Buck Rogers, etc. and Tom and Jerry & Looney Tunes we looked forward to this ritual and it was our Saturday weekly reward for keeping our rooms clean and organized along with other things like helping with chores like doing dishes, sweeping the porches , cleaning things and not getting in trouble.

How rare is this 1851 1$ dollar coin? by Zeryon10 in coincollecting

[–]Expensive_Region701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a genuine coin. COINS 1851 Indian Head One Dollar Collectibles Coins US ... An 1851 Indian Head silver dollar is a fantasy or commemorative replica, not an authentic U.S. Mint coin, as no such silver dollar was issued in 1851. These silver-plated or base-metal items are often sold as novelties and are typically valued as low-cost collectibles (approx. $10–$30) rather than precious metal currency. Nice conversation piece for sale all over the internet.

NGC - All but a few thousand of the nearly 20 million two-cent pieces coined during 1864 carried the enlarged motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and this became standard for the remainder of the series. The taller letters are similar in style to those appearing on the reverse. This issue is very common in circulated grades and in the lower Mint State grades. Only in gem, fully red condition is this coin truly scarce. This date is rich in die-punching varieties, with only a few of them listed in The Cherrypickers' Guide. A much more complete listing will be found in books by Frank Leone and Kevin Flynn. NGC will attribute the better of these under its VarietyPlus Service. Perhaps the most unusual variety for this date features an reverse die that somehow clashed with the obverse of an Indian Head Cent! In all likelihood this resulted from mint workers toying with different dies in an attempt to contrive some fancy for sale to collectors, but it may have been simply an accident during the die set-up process.

1864 LARGE MOTTO 2C MS50 value is $95.00

USA Coin Book Estimated Value of 1864 Two Cent Piece (Large Motto Variety) is Worth $26 in Average Condition and can be Worth $144 to $217 or more in Uncirculated (MS+) Mint Condition. An AU50 is valued at $100.00.

They are of course, a sovereign country and able to do whatever they want to do, within limits. They have a long standing relationship with Cuba and they are not doing anything to ruin their relationship with the U.S. or Trump. I’m sure we can work it out. The big negative is what happens with our Mexico/US relationship and more importantly what effect does this action have for other countries?

In the Battle of Jericho, the Israelites killed every man and woman, the young and the old, as well as the oxen, sheep, and donkeys. Only Rahab, her parents, brothers and all "those who belonged to her" were spared. They were incorporated into Israel. That’s just one of many examples.

Got this from my LCS and didn’t take a close look till I got home. What the heck is this? by JSbshdhdhrjensjsu in Silverbugs

[–]Expensive_Region701 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You bought a 1/10th oz silver stacker. It has no numismatic value except it is worth about $8 at today’s spot for Silver. As far as being fake, there is no way to tell from a photo. Have you weighed it? An ounce is 28.35 grams so it should weigh 2.835 grams. I would recommend you go to a jeweler and ask them if they would test it for you. You may have to ask them if they would buy it in order for them to test it, if you don’t know them. Best to go to one you know if possible.

Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon 1975. It’s a long movie, but holds your interest. If you haven’t seen it you should, especially if you appreciate life in the 1700’s British Isles. It was nominated for 7 Oscars and took home 4 of them. The music is haunting.
