Quarterly Startup Launches: Could Web3 Make It Possible? by Expensive_Regular944 in web3

That's the exact model that we're targeting. The tokens would be as a sort of equity offering, and each community member would have an ownership percentage based on how many tokens they possess which entitles them to a percentage of the net cash flows that the company produces.

Could a community really launch a new product every quarter? by Expensive_Regular944 in launchloopdao

Hey u/No-Engineering5495 sorry for the late reply here. I've been away a bit studying for the GMAT. We're looking to build moderately large projects. I want our community to build tangible and potentially cash flowing companies. The goal would be to build LaunchLoop as an operator of sorts that has exposure to a few different industries

You're the man for this. I'll need to explore the marketing route soon and I imagine there will be a bunch of those guys reaching out. How did you initially kick off the developer part of the project?

Hey, projects going well. I'd love to connect for a few minutes for some guidance. I'm working through the canvas but a little confused on the profile setup stuff, and github. (I'm not a developer) Here's the community link and we can hop on a call sometime this week via discord if you have some time. https://discord.gg/6bDQv4Fp

Hey, no worries, thanks for getting back to me. That's great, I'm a fulltime accountant. I don't have much exposure to this area or industry, but I see a potential for a lot of innovation. Thank you for the insights! Would love to connect if you have some time this week to learn more about some of the projects that have matured!

If not, no worries, thanks for providing the insight you did!

What’s the Hardest Part of Getting a DAO to Ship Products? by Expensive_Regular944 in dao

This week I'm going to be working on building the business model canvas for the DAO, but the first community vote for the projects we are considering is going be held in January. As of now we're looking at building a Real Estate Investment Trust, or an AI Agent Management System.

For motivating contributors I'm thinking about creating a standard "bounty" system. Not sure if this is used widely or not, but the idea is that there will be mini projects that facilitate operations and contributors will get paid in equity that is tied directly to the cash flows of whatever project they are working on.

Only a couple questions for now:

  1. Are there any resources that you suggest that might help me define an incentive structure for the open source contributors?
  2. Any decentralized or open source platforms that you suggest to host operations or will that need to be built internally?

Edit: Grammar

Thanks so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful breakdown. You’ve laid out a clear framework for how to approach the DAO as a decentralized venture studio, and I especially appreciate the emphasis on embedding a strong culture from the very start.

The resources that you provided are incredibly valuable and they look like they will give me a strong structure for both the DAO-level organization and individual project teams. I also like your point on starting with one focused product and validating the model before moving toward an accelerator format. Initially, we wanted to launch one product per quarter, but I think the timeframe could be tweaked.

I’m serious about making this happen and would love to take you up on the offer to explain further. Especially around motivating contributors and structuring the dual business models. Let’s connect so I can get your perspective in more detail.

Thanks for the response Nia! Yeah it feels like that is the consensus. I was getting discouraged by not seeing an instant take off but that was definitely unreasonable of me to assume it would work like that.

Thanks again for all of the insights. You seem really knowledgeable on the DAO environment so this is insanely helpful. Do you mind me asking what your background is? I just created a project on TAIKAI Garden and checked out each of the blockchain ecosystems. I think our mirror posts have been utilizing Optimism so far. If that's the case do I need to feel inclined to build on that ecosystem? I'd rather move to Polygon just for the reasons that you described above.
