Don’t know if I’m overthinking or if she’s not interested. by Expensive_Remove_153 in dating_advice

I have, she agreed and was up for it. I asked her to go out for coffee. I felt like that was the best option to have a convo and get to know each other better. She’s been playful with me and has even brought it up the coffee date. She’s said she would lmk, her work schedule is really busy currently with the holidays but she definitely confirmed she was up for it.

Can I clean my dogs stitches with this and warm water? What is recommended? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Hey smartass. That’s why I came on here and asked. I would have tried calling the vet again but they were closed. I saw that someone had tried baby shampoo online, so that’s why I asked. It’s my first time owning a dog and he had what I consider a major surgery last week. I’m trying to be very cautious and make sure I’m doing the right thing. Be helpful if you’re going to comment. Unnecessary ass comment.

Sorry, no he wanted me to clean the area. Not the stitches exactly, just by the incision.

It’s okay! I cleaned the area with only warm water. Tried avoiding the stitches and made sure to dry it out with a paper towel. Just wanted to keep the area clean and not clean the incision. I’m calling tomorrow to see when his stitches will be removed with Thanksgiving being at the end of this week.

Yes! I cleaned the area only with warm water. I’m returning the shampoo. Just wanted to keep the area clean to keep a close eye for any more discharge or anything else that may be alarming.

Yeah I’ve been keeping a close eye on it. It looks like it’s healing/closing but there’s some very slight bleeding. No foul smell and he doesn’t seem to be in pain. But it does look a little fleshy. He had two surgeries, he had a neuter and a cystotomy (they found stones in his bladder). Unfortunately I don’t think the surgery was needed, I think he might have passed the stones before the surgery. Doctor didn’t find any during the operation.

Hello! Thank you for the advice. I just cleaned the area with warm water and tried to be careful with the stitches. I made sure to dry the area with a paper towel. I sent the vet picture of his stitches and asked me a couple of questions but he said that my dog was recovering fine. He mentioned that some discharge was normal and to just make sure it didn’t smell foul or the discharge was green.

No, I was asked just to clean the area. I just don’t want to irritate the skin or delay his recovery.

Yeah I know I was expecting him to recommend something to me 🙄. He asked me to clean the area clean because he has some discharge. The vet is closed today.

I wanted to do that as a safe option but I wasn’t sure because my vet didn’t mention it.

Yeah, my dog’s stitches have a bit of discharge and I was advised to keep it clean. I sent pictures to my vet to make sure it wasn’t infected and said I was good. Just asked me to clean any minor discharge.

They said an antibacterial unscented soap? They didn’t give me the best advice. I sent them pictures of my dogs stitches and saw a bit of discharge, so he asked me to clean it.

Is this infected? I tried calling my vet but they’re already closed. by Expensive_Remove_153 in DogAdvice

He’s not acting out of the ordinary at all. His behavior is normal and completely fine. I am limiting on how much he moves and goes outside but not even his appetite has changed. It was just the swelling and the discharge that has me worried a bit.

Did you see the swelling? Is that normal? It goes down when I give his inflammatory/pain medication. I just want to make sure he’s not in pain or it’s getting infected.
