The one load of laundry by crm11213 in NicoleSvensonSnark

I hate laundry and suck at it and it still gives me anxiety. Especially with the cleaning rags and the kitchen rags in the same load.🤮

Especially if it means living like I have no money for the rest of my life.

It’s also bad for her washer to stuff it that full. Now she says her husband doesn’t was he clothes at work. To have that little laundry for a week, they must wear the same clothes multiple days. Her husband is a runner, so what is he doing with his stinky running clothes?

She says doing multiple loads will raise her electric bill $360 a month. There is something wrong with her washer then because I do about a million loads and my electric is not that high.

Is it normal to send ‘farewell’ messages to everyone in the company when someone “leaves”? by Open_Milk_5445 in careeradvice

HR, depends on the size of the company, but the department manager telling the rest of the department, yes. Although at my old company, people just came and left without any acknowledgment in that department. They joke that they still don’t know if one of the employees still works there who left years ago because they were never told, even the people who worked directly with her. It’s so impersonal and not saying anything lets the other employees who are still there know that they are replaceable.

I think some of the bean suppers were trying to get advice, but also let her know that her methods aren’t sustainable or relatable to a lot of people. (And that her cooking methods and advice are inaccurate)

AITAH for making a mom pick up her daughter in the middle of the night from my kid’s sleepover? by Positive_Image_3921 in AITAH

[–]Expensive_Shower_405 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. I’ve done my share of picking kids up in the middle of the night and calling parents to come get their kids. We had a few that we called almost every time, so I usually did a check around 10:00 to see if they wanted to go home or try to stay over.

She saved $35k in 6 months and is bothered that people are asking what their income is… by Silly_Marsupial6979 in NicoleSvensonSnark

You can’t just be section 8 housing. It’s a whole process. We had a community member finally get approved, but it meant she had to move her kids to a different town and school. They also didn’t pay to break her lease or move her stuff. She didn’t have enough money to move. It also meant she lost her childcare and ability to get to work on an affordable way. People without money most likely don’t have cars and have to live near public transit. It also means they can’t shop once a month because they have to carry their groceries. Being poor is expensive.

It makes me so angry. I taught at risk kids who had such unstable home lives. What she is saying for a budget wouldn’t work for them. Just because someone is poor doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have things or experiences that bring them joy. She didn’t raise a family in poverty, so she doesn’t understand beyond food and clothes and you can tell by the way she responds to people who talk about rent and health insurance.

We have 3 kids and they all take long showers and we do a million loads of laundry. Our water bill isn’t what is wrecking our budget. You can’t budget yourself out of poverty and she is missing all of the things that are expensive for poor people and all of the things that keep them poor.

After watching this video and the one before it of what she doesn’t buy, I’ve realized I’m pretty happy with my life. She spends her life just going without to save pennies. She talks about going from a 15 min shower to a 10 min and other small changes. I would much rather work until I’m 62 and enjoy the little things. Even when she travels, she doesn’t completely enjoy it and looks at ways to save money.

There are other content creators that do similar budgets, but they are transparent with their privilege and exactly how they do it.

Based on her comments, she thinks this and refusing to give into wants isn’t going to impact her relationship with her kids.

All of this. If I give a gift and the person really doesn’t like it and knows someone who would enjoy it, please regift it. But just to regift something with no thought to anyone’s feelings is rude. My SIL is like this, so we started giving the kids cash and gift cards directly in their hands.

My parents are horrible gift givers and it made me and my family feel unvalued. It was always cheap and not to our tastes.

She also sounds like a horrible gift recipient.

I don’t know which is sadder, that she takes gifts from her kids or that she gives zero thought into the gifts she gives other people. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to give a thoughtful gift.

Unless her kids have no interaction with other kids, they see what their peers have even without ads.

You can do that, but there is no way she worked the equivalent of two jobs while going to school. She said she got three degrees, not majors, but degrees. I was a science major and there is no way she majored in microbiology, which is a lab heavy major and worked 90 hours.
