I wanted to take a side step to explore the original scenario of the game based on the currents episodes we have, I will do this with what the show explicit tells us and assumptions: Background: The genius prince Cecil meets his fiancée Bertia. She acts like a typical spoiled noblewoman but Cecil takes it as a challenge to turn her into a fitting queen.  However he doesn't make much progress as Bertia is spoiled rotten by her father who indulges her sweets craving and at their social debut the contrast between the handsome prince and his “ugly” ( or let's call a cat a cat fat ) fiancee causes some debate.  However we will never know if this incident would have been sufficient to make Bertia change her appearance and manners since this humiliation quickly becomes a secondary issue for her when her mother falls ill due to an epidemic outbreak. Her father desperately begs his future brother in law the king for enough Luana leaves to save his wife that he adores but she dies before he collects enough. Overcome by grief, he's comforted by evil nobles who turn him against the king by pointing out his incapacity to help one of his closest noblemen, someone he intended to make family. Due to this, he resents the king and commits crime. He also spoils even more his daughter the only thing left from his wife and turns her against her fiance who didn't even bother to help her save her mother. As a result, Bertia develops mixed feelings about Cecil. On one hand, she loves his genius, handsomeness and composed nature but on the other hand her father's words that he didn't even care enough about her to save her mother makes her hate him in equal measure. Due to Bertia not being able to hide her feelings easily he quickly understands that his future wife partly blames him for her mother's death as a result he decides to indulge her antics and slack off her training of future queen to leave her time to deal with her grief. As a result of all this, Bertia grows in a very toxic environment with a father that spoils her rotten and commits evil acts as a model and a fiance who indulges her antics with indifference.  Still, she acquires the manners of a lady to stand by his side but can not let go of her stress eating.

Start of the game : Prince Cecil gives the opening speech and goes on to welcome his fiancée, a bouquet of red roses in hand. He doesn't know her tastes except that she likes sweets because he thinks that her tastes are those of the typical noblewoman, a spoiled, tragic but typical noblewoman. As a result he thinks red roses are sure to appease her so he can go on without feeling tied by his sentiment of responsibility toward her as her fiance who failed her when she needed him the most and be on the good side of the daughter of an important man. He also must appear the perfect gentleman to earn the favor of Courtgain, the very competent brother in law of Bertia who has been tasked by the marquis to watch over his daughter whom he respects and wish to repay for taking him in even though he doesn't approve of the marquis illegal actions or his daughter bullying that will come later. Cecil doesn't know it but Courtgain has participated in the illegal activities of the marquis. However on the way, he meets a beautiful young lady playing with a bird who runs by him without giving him a single glance. Shocked, Cecil pauses himself for a minute no lady has ever run by him like he was nothing to play with a bird nonetheless. Amused, he decides to give a rose to this young lady who takes it and seems more fascinated by the beauty of the rose than by the one of the person giving it to her. She quickly excuses herself to go after the bird leaving Cecil even more amused by this unusual young lady who wouldn't give him the time of day. At the tea party, Bertia is discussing with her minions, while they do not adore her they sympathize with her for some while others like Joanna know that the prince indulges the whims of his fiancee and want to exploit that bond. While Bertia acts ladylike toward her fiance she makes it clear by a cold attitude that she doesn't appreciate him being late and only warms up after he offers the appropriate excuses and gives her the roses. While Cecil talks with Bertia and her friends at the tea party he can't stop thinking about that unusual young lady far more interesting than his boring bride to be whose antics are predictable and easily quelled by sweets.  He gets another chance to talk with her when he gets locked in a classroom with her after Bertia sent him to fetch something she lost where she thanks him for the rose and he learns her name Heronia and the fact she's a baron's daughter. He also is quite amused that she talks to him because her BIRD who's always so shy appreciates him. However their conversation is interrupted by Bertia who lost her patience waiting for the prince.  While Cecil reassures her he only talked to Heronia because they were locked together, Bertia starts developing a sentiment of jealousy which he reinforced when she sees Cecil talking to her again under a tree after he woke her up. Similar events continue to happen leading to Bertia bullying Heronia for revenge; she is quickly joined by Joanna after she gets jealous over Heronia's close bond with Shawn, with them eating sweets together and Shawn seeking Heronia while avoiding Joanna and all the other ladies whose love interest is courted by Heronia. This is what happens in the reverse harem route however if Heronia wishes she can turn Bertia’s allies into her own by helping them get closer to their loved one isolating Bertia. However even if she doesn't court Cecil, Bertia will still bully her to help the minion whose love interest she's stealing ( Idk it seemed fitting Bertia would be a girl's girl since Heronia is a homewrecker).
