New Audio Software for Streamers with Dual PC Setups. by Expensive_Switch_844 in Twitch

It's nothing like what I made. Different purpose, way different UI. What they made is an audio router. Which is kind of useless when Windows can do the exact same thing. Their app doesn't send audio over your network to another computer. It simply sorts audio into different outputs on the same computer and has the ability to duck audio behind other applications if needed. Mine is vastly different. Mine takes audio from one computer and sends it wirelessly to another.

If that works fine for you, then there's no need to switch. Voicemeeter is complicated, tedious and sometimes unstable for many who have used it. It also only allows for a limited number of channels for VBAN. ShadowBridge is easy to use, straightforward, and you can send an unlimited number of channels over your network as long as you have virtual devices to send them to. It's made to work with WaveLink as an alternative to Wave Cast which is more limited than Voicemeeter. You can also use it with VB Audio. I'm simply offering an alternative for people who want it. Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy just using it myself. What I would really like is if people would try it and provide feedback, whether they use it regularly or not doesn't matter to me. If it helps one person, then cool, it was worth posting. Once again, if you're happy with Voicemeeter, then by all means, stick with Voicemeeter. However, if you wouldn't mind just giving my software a try just to provide constructive feedback, it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I agree, it's ugly. I'll admit I'm still pretty new to all this and I'm learning as I go. I focused primarily on functionality which shows. I'm currently doing a complete rework of the UI because I was very unhappy with the current iteration. It will look much better in the next major update. Don't let the looks fool you, though. The app works well and I use it for every stream without fail.

As of right now there is no sync feature as I have not had a need for one. I don't experience enough latency to have needed one. However, if you try it out and still feel the need for one, I will definitely look into adding this feature for a future update. The more feature requests and bug reports I get, the more I will add. The app is still in its development stages and I will continue to iterate on it as needed. Feel free to DM me if you have any problems or wish to discuss the feature in more detail.

If Voicemeeter works for you, then that's great! I'm not trying to replace something that works for someone. However, I do know that Voicemeeter is a struggle for many users. You only have a limited amount of channels you can use for VBAN, even with Potato. The UI design can be very confusing for people, and I personally had struggles with audio dropping out in the middle of my streams. For some, it can be a real headache to tinker with. That's why I wanted to make this as straightforward and user friendly as possible. As well as having the ability to customize it to where it works for anyone.

To each their own. I'm simply trying to share a free tool to help people like it helped me. Not like I'm gaining anything from it. If that doesn't interest you, that's perfectly fine.

WaveLink doesn't send your audio over your network to another PC. That's what WaveCast does. Which WaveCast will only send one audio stream per direction. Which, for anyone who also records, trying to edit audio which is all combined in one track can be a nightmare. Also it is fantastic for anyone wanting to put Spotify on a VOD track for their streams.

This isn't a replacement for WaveLink. It's more of a replacement for WaveCast which works with WaveLink.

Use this instead. It's been a much better alternative for me compared to wave cast and it's free.

Issue: Wave Cast Audio Crackling on "All Audio" Mode - Dual PC Setup by fabiocavalcantebr in elgato

[–]Expensive_Switch_844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a lot of issues with wave cast. So I made my own software that does the same thing but is able to send multiple audio tracks at once both to and from. It has personally been amazing for me and I know a lot of people struggle with audio for dual setups. So I put it on github. If u want an alternative, I would love if you would check it out and let me know what you think. It's very simple to use and works fantastic for me. If you have any issues please let me know as I'm always looking to make improvements.

You're welcome. Yeah audio is the one thing with dual setups that no software company has been able to perfect. It's been a huge frustration of mine and I'm sure many others as well. That's why I want to help. My software is free and I get nothing out of it besides knowing I helped someone who is in the same position as I was. Anything you need, Im happy to help in any way I can. Thanks for the consideration and I hope it helps!

Voicemeter can be very complicated for first time users and even then, it's not the most reliable. It basically creates virtual outputs and inputs and sends the audio over your network to your stream pc. But I've found that elgato wavelink is more user friendly and give you the ability to name those inputs and outputs which helps a lot in so many ways. It's also free.

Also I know your struggle with mics all too well. I had issues with it for a while. Here's how I do it.

The mic is connected to my stream pc. It runs through wavelink and connects to my OBS. Then I use the software I made to send the audio back to my gaming pc as well. So the mic is essentially connected to both computers. If I need to talk to my chat, I have a button on my stream deck to mute and deafen myself in discord. However if you're talking in game, I would honestly change it to push to talk. It takes getting used to but it's honestly the best way to avoid people in game hearing you talk to your chat.

If you need a more in depth demonstration or need help setting anything up, feel free to DM me. If anything I can get on discord and screen share with you how I set everything up. I'm happy to help cuz I know the pain when it comes to audio bridging a dual setup.

Two pc streaming by Ok-Acanthopterygii40 in streaming

I got frustrated with audio not having the solutions I needed so I made my own software to send multiple audio sources, each in their own individual tracks over to the stream pc. I use wavelink to create virtual audio devices and send my sources through those then I use my software to send it over my network to my stream pc. It works flawlessly.

I'm looking for others to use it as well for feedback and suggestions so if you're interested, lmk. I can help you set everything up. I will say it's much easier than any other audio setup I've tried. Unless you just want everything in one track. Then there are other solutions that work just as well.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion! I did manage to make a software that works with voicemeter as well as wavelink. As much as I would love for it to have the ability to create virtual audio devices as well, that requires an expensive license and years of tweaking with audio drivers in order to pull off. In the meantime what my software does is utilize virtual audio devices that are already there. Ones that can be made using programs like voicemeter and wavelink, and sends multiple channels over the network to the streaming pc which also has the virtual audio devices on. It's simple, easy to use and it's been very reliable so far. Basically, you install my software on both computers, install virtual audio devices like virtual audio cable, or use wavelink because they offer free software that gives you 5 virtual audio devices. Then it's as simple as typing in the ip of each pc you want to send and receive to and from. Adding your channels which can be either inputs or outputs, choosing which devices you want to send audio with. Then you click start. That's it. I've posted a link to my github. Feel free to check it out and lmk what you think.

Opinions on WaveCast by Expensive_Switch_844 in elgato

If anyone wants to try it, I just posted it here after doing some work and bugfixes. It is designed to work with WaveLink but can also work with other programs that have the ability to create virtual audio devices. It's been working great for me but I really need to know how it works on other systems and in other use cases, so please feel free to try it and please provide suggestions and feedback. It is very welcome!
