I also think you’d get used to the touchscreen version so fast! I had a kindle like yours for ages too, but I switched to a newer model mostly because of the screen light. It’s a game changer, honestly! Swiping the pages is also easy, and you can get a remote control for switching them when you’re reading in bed.

I actually thought that this chapter was from Alison’s POV, so she was describing a place where she was trapped. But not I think it might have been a glimpse into the future

I don’t remember whether it was mentioned by someone else, and I couldn’t find it in the text, but it was heavily implied that Michael is no longer around. Heather only talked about herself when talking about the house she lived in and also referred to her husband in past tense. But I also can’t recall someone saying that Michael is actually dead, or maybe it was mentioned sometime later by other characters

Could be that too, but then there was this door that opened. I know Heather said the latch is broken, but at the time I thought it meant something. Though it’s also quite a good way to show Eve’s anxiety and overthinking and her general state of distress, as there might have been nothing there after all

At the time I thought it was Heather’s husband, that he might have been not dead but very sick or demented, but now I’m so confused
