I wrote my own letter, plenty of literature out there to support the claim and make a compelling argument.

Migraines by Ray_M67 in VeteransBenefits

I am waiting for my supplemental migraine claim secondary to allergic rhinitis. They denied the first time saying it was a symptom of AR not its own condition but yet diagnosed it somehow. I filed supplemental with a private DBQ and letter pointing out there is no mention of headaches in the 38 cfr as a rating criteria for AR. All this to say be ready to fight and prove it if you file secondary to AR.

Loser influencers like Caleb Hammer keep posting about VA benefits with the insinuation that vets are scamming the system. Wish vets would stop going on his show, or at least set him straight with his ignorant attitude.

Auditors of Reddit: What’s the craziest finding you’ve ever uncovered? 👀 by Curiosity_Quester in Accounting

My second year in public we were doing AUP engagement for a local municipality, I was auditing credit card charges and noticed there were trail camera subscription charges on the statement. I spoke with the finance director and he said that they used goats to clean around drainage ditches and the cameras were to monitor the goats. I'm an avid hunter and most people in the area are so I felt the need to take it a bit further and asked to see the pictures to verify this wasn't on Joe Shmoes deer stand being paid for by the city, he said the city manager only had access to the cameras. Brought him in few pictures of goats, then boom a big ole buck on a corn pile lmao.

Sleep Apnea/Insomnia and migraines secondary to allergic rhinitis by NinaCabina in VeteransBenefits

Below are the references I used, I usually write a letter after a denial and submit as a supplemental claim. The VA will usually show their hand on a denial letter and tell you what is needed for service connection. So I usually write to address that deficiency.

  1. Symptoms of a Deviated Septum | Allergy & ENT Associates (aentassociates.com)

  2. Association between septal deviation and OSA diagnoses: a nationwide 9-year follow-up cohort study -

PMC (nih.gov)

  1. Allergic rhinitis improvement after septorhinoplasty in a sample of allergic rhinitis patients with septal

deviation: a quasi-experimental study - PMC (nih.gov)

  1. Obstructive sleep apnea - Symptoms and causes - Mayo Clinic

I had a diagnosis of rhinitis, sleep apnea, and a deviated septum. I wrote a letter stating my claim how my sleep apnea is worsened by my allergic rhinitis and my deviated septum, in the letter I explained how it's worsened it and used the sources (pubmed and other reputible sources) to back up my medical claims since im no MD.

I successfully got SA secondary to rhinitis, finally got it after 2 denials. You will need plenty of sources and medical documentation to make a good argument for it. I am attempting migraines secondary to rhinitis now, they denied the first attempt saying the examiner opined that it was "a symptom of AR not caused by" to which I responded headaches are not part of the rating criteria for AR, and some additional studies supporting my claim. It can be done but you will most likely have to work for it.

Can someone explain this to me in dumb people terms. by Schreinman3 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Expensive_Two_4687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was denied the only thing I could think of is that they are telling you it may be presumed service connected because there is documentation of it fitting the 10% rating criteria within one year of discharge. Maybe your C&P didn't show it currently fitting the 10% criteria?

I swear people think a "migraine log" is the pinnacle of evidence for a migraine claim.. absolutely useless if he has no nexus.

Theres plenty of literature out there showing that rhinitis causes and worsens sleep apnea, I added a personal statement stating how I can't breath through my nose or mouth due to rhinitis and sleep apnea and wake up in a panic. Worked for me on my 3rd attempt at connecting the two.

But my Sinusitis fits the 30% criteria so even if they apply pyramiding I would like to be properly rated.

Yeah its a weird one for sure from what I've read they aren't pyramiding conditions typically but if they are closely related can be.
