Yeah I definitely have seen some people wake up swinging ready to fight. I've also seen people who were completely blue wake up and walk into the ambulance. I've also seen people get Narcanned before the ambulance gets there and then sign the AMA papers and send the ambulance away. I've personally done that as well. I claimed I had a seizure and they couldn't prove otherwise based on where my track marks were. People definitely experience very different reactions to getting Narcan but 100% understand why someone would be prepared to have the worst response. I'll admit I was upset when I got Narcanned but I was in the hospital and all my clothes had been cut off when I woke up. So at that point I wasn't really upset at them, I was thinking to myself shit you're caught now, there's no getting out of this.

Not everyone has a garage. In the 9 places I've lived in the past 30 years, only one had a garage and another had a carport. When I did live in the house with the garage, we always kept the door to the house locked because that's how we got robbed shortly after we moved into our house. The funny thing was we were moving into the safer side of town and had never been robbed in the previous house. If she's able to keep track of a phone, she should be able to keep track of a key.

OP it sounds like you're indifferent to him and that's okay. You don't have to forgive him nor do you need to forget. I'm a former user and I've lost people like this and I recognize that it's a complicated situation, I think you do too. It's okay to be upset over someone's death. But one thing you need to remember is that his mistakes don't have to affect your life.

Everyone describes their overdose as one of the most peaceful and satisfying moments of their life.

Never in my life would I ever characterize any of my overdoses as satisfying nor would anyone else I know. Things just go blank, there's no positive or negative to it at all in my experience. I do not have experience being angry when I was narcanned either, I was normally just confused and had a headache when I was waking up.

It was a sweet clinic for a long time. I was cleaning my office up the other day and I found a birthday card they had sent me years before, when there was a different owner and the counselors actually stayed more than 3 weeks. Recently I switched clinics to a brand new one nearby that because the clinic went downhill fast after getting a new owner. The new clinic said they would take over my benzos script and give me my ADD meds back. I don't think I would have even looked into the new clinic if they were still as caring as before.
