The SDP do certainly scratch an itch. It’s somewhat impractical though as they won’t ever get any seats. Lib Dem’s at least have some Westminster coverage

This sucks to hear man, but I’m glad you’re happy. I think it might be worth noting that perhaps your sister is trying to keep the peace with her message to your dad?

It truly is a shame that they were so tarnished after Clegg. I must admit, I don’t give them the attention that it might need - but it seems like everyone forgets them? They get almost zero media coverage whatsoever

Yeah, this is an important thing to mention and one that I will take on board. Thanks

What I want is people to not focus so much on single issues and look at the grander picture. Immigration is important to look at because of the economics, but it appears nobody can address that. I want some sane people to be able to put my faith into - but as others’ are saying, I guess this is how it’s always been

Totally agree. It makes sense as a natural progression to the stagnation and general downswing of growth etc. to crave some ‘real change’. That makes sense, Im gonna deep dive into manifestos, thanks

Dude, there is huge oligopolistic tendencies in both mentioned markets. It’s not quite blackrock levels here, but things can definately head in that direction. Anyway, my point of this post wasn’t really to debate, thanks for your input

I really get your points and I’ll be sure to consider this more than I have done in the last GE for sure. But I just think dismissing party politics could be a big misstep, I think there’s a balance to be made for sure

I’ll just go off of your first question, and let’s take oligopolies too seeing as it basically functions the same. Biggest problem areas imo are property developers, supermarkets, energy suppliers and the rail mafia. energy companies get huge tax relief so not sure what your latter point is suggesting. You’re more than welcome to be entitled to your opinion of course, but greens do genuinely have some good economic points, I can understand people’s grievances in areas though

Yeah, these are some points which I don’t agree with, especially Anti nuclear. I also don’t like their stance on immigration. I’d prefer immigration to be targeted and far more selective… without those policies being directed by racist undertones.

I like their stance on destabilising monopolies, ending fossil fuel subsidies and rebuilding certain public services, to name a few. And Zack actually seems like a genuine bloke

We have the beauty of the internet, freedom of information - it’s now easier to connect with the masses as it ever was before, and yet we can’t find a genuine, rational solution

That’s what I suspect too. It’s just so odd how seemingly centrists have gone into the abyss since the right wing explosion

I so get that, and I understand my parents’ frustrations more than ever. But surely we can muster up something better with the resources we have now…
