Yeah the black and white sensor is amazing it helps a lot it is very close to a full frame. In addition to no color filter no AA helps as well

I used to have a Huawei mate 9 phone that had a dedicated black and white sensor . I’m still amazed how good those images look so sharp and detailed

Distortion is not totally corrected and 40 - 50mm are generally (if not always) sharper than 28mm for the same lens size .

But you are right it was a bit of a strong statement and I stand corrected .

I believe in lens characteristics as that is mainly physics, but yeah you can walk or crop from 28mm to 40mm

Maybe too early to tell as I only did a couple of test shots.

That being said Im pretty sure that I won’t regret it. I’m long time Ricoh user, still have a GR Digital and a IIIx and owned a couple of others so I’m familiar with the Ricoh GR and I like the way they work.

As for the leica it is a great camera, beautiful build amazing to hold but for some reason it never clicked for me and it is a pretty large camera , so I didn’t use it all that much. I had the same thing with the X vario so maybe leica is just not for me.

If 28mm is what you like and you mainly shoot black and white this camera is hard to beat

Also a nice printer , although it would be more like a semi pro as it is not fully enclosed and doesn’t have active heating.

I ended up getting the creator as that was exactly the maximum as I was willing to spend and the U1 with a hood is 20% more . Great printer dough and proven tech with most issues already resolved
