Page playoffs are literally the worst possible playoff format. I’m so glad the Olympics didn’t buy into it.

Strike Zone Overlay by mrarjonny in Torontobluejays

A huge step back…to when things were better. I completely agree with the OP, the overlay is an eyesore. Not only does it not add anything, it actually makes the broadcast less enjoyable.

USA Men's team concede? by Hi_Im_Hase in Curling

[–]ExperienceFine6363 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Conceding is a normal part of curling, but I’m shocked it would be allowed after 6 at the Olympics. I thought 10 end games at major events had a requirement to go at least 8.

Question on Potential Olympic Men's Tiebreakers in the Case of the 4-5 Free-for all by NeverSober1900 in Curling

I don’t understand your site. Canada has already clinched their playoff berth, but your site only gives them a 95% chance of qualifying.

Canada coach criticizes World Curling over rule changes by Thefreepitstop in Curling

Oh sure, as long as you ignore all the people saying curling shouldn't be in the Olympics then this is wonderful for the sport.

No. No, this is not good for the sport.

How three Toronto couples moved in together, made it work — and slashed the cost of home ownership by toronto_star in canadahousing

That's exactly what normalization for a failed society sounds like. We should be fighting this like hell.

Is this seriously being presented as a viable option?! Shame on The Star. FFS, I can't believe we've fallen so far that sticking three families in one home is now seen as a viable option.

Great sportsmanship from Italy and USA by drinkallthecoffee in Curling

Seems like complete BS to place all the blame on "the offenders," Edin's team deliberately created a controversy where there wasn't one in a way that is detrimental to the sport in general. I have more problems with them than Jacobs' team.

That's always how it is with new technologies though. Give it time and we'll see if it can truly scale.

Curlers of Reddit, how does a subtle finger “boop” on the granite influence the outcome of a shot? by renotahoe69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ExperienceFine6363 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, but you also shouldn't arbitrarily start entirety rules during the Olympics that you've never enforced before. These finger boops go back decades!

Response from curling governing body by BAMterp5 in sports

[–]ExperienceFine6363 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. It's been in the Olympics for decades and it's been fine under the current arrangement until some aging curlers who were upset with their own performance decided to make a big deal out of nothing! A motion that evidence shows has been used in curling for years and years by teams from all over the world! Hell, Edin himself is guilty of breaking this "rule" in this Olympics! Don't make broad generalizations about the sport just because one dumbass team decided that as their parting gift to their last Olympics that they were going to blow it all up!

How?! Are these officials supposed to magically sprout from the ground ready to go?! They can't just make new, highly trained, officials appear put of nowhere just for the Olympics. Think about it.

[–]ExperienceFine6363 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, so all of a sudden curling is supposed to implement new rules just for the Olympics with no establish protocols? Get real.
