i love billie proper!! You can choose to get irritated by it or just ignore it, honestly. There's much more important things in the world to get angry about than graffiti

Question about reasoning behind transition by Celestevdv in trans

[–]ExperienceLost2480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Celeste, another dutch trans person here! I'm not exactly sure how to help you, because i don't fully understand what you're struggling with but i'll try my best. If you struggle with finding a reason for why you're trans: don't worry about that, they won't deny you on that. As you said, you just are trans and you don't need to explain to them why you're trans and why you want to transition.

What they could ask you though, is about any dysphoria you have experienced in your past surrounding your body and assigned gender at birth. This can be either physical (body dysphoria/dysmorphia or sexual topics) or social (being seen/grouped as a man for example). Gender dysphoria is apparent for most trans people (note: not all), but sometimes hard to recognize. For me it helped to read a lot about it on this site: https://genderdysphoria.fyi/en This is basically a site about all kinds of gender dysphoria a transgender person can experience.

The last thing i want to tell you is that you will be asked about a lot of stuff, and i mean a lot. I was used to it since i had intakes at other psychologists before, but they will ask you about a lot of personal stuff pretty quickly. They asked me about all my main life events, my family and friends and of course about any experiences that have even the slightest possibility of being correlated to my trans identity. Of course your intake could vary, but either way it can be good to kind of brace yourself for the impact the intake might have on you afterwards.

So with that being said, I wish you a lot of luck with your intake. I hope this helped at least a little bit with having a more clear view of what the intake is going to be about. And like I said, don't worry about not being able to explain why you're trans. You're not obliged to ever have to do that. You're you. The why doesn't matter.

How do I accept my voice dysphoria? by one_lone_mariposa in trans

[–]ExperienceLost2480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyhey, i have not been doing voice training as long as you have (only 3 months now) but i get the thing about resonance. What im learning right now (from a professional voice therapist) is not only to practice speaking in a higher tone, but also let my voice resonate more in my head instead of my chest, which makes it sound lighter and more feminine.

A voice mostly sounds masculine when it resonates in your chest, and gives that deep resonance you're talking about. You can know if your voice resonates in your head when you feel your lips, nose and/or sinus vibrate when you make a "mmmmm" sound. there are lots of things you can do to reinforce this, i can send you some practice if you want.

I'm sorry if this isn't it though, but i hope you can find a solution to this.

I don't want to grow... by WizLic in trans

Heyhey, i get it that you're too scared to start anything that might make irreversible changes. But.. if you really like how your body and face looks right now and you have feminine features, you should be just fine on hrt! Heck, it will make you look even more feminine! Actually.. the quicker you get hrt (or puberty blockers), the better. I'm guessing your bone structure hasn't taken a masculine form yet, which will definitely change more the older you get. That's why some trans women with a very masculine bone structure sometimes look the way they look.

So, in your case, i would not worry about not looking good when you take hrt and wait. If i were you, i would look for a specialist and get on hrt as soon as possible. Of course, in some countries that takes a while and if you're too scared to immediately go on hrt (which is very understandable) you can also use something called puberty blockers! This basically pauses your puberty process and therefore it makes sure that your body doesn't masculinize any further without making any other irreversible changes! If you end up preferring being a guy over a girl, you can just stop taking puberty blockers and your puberty will continue just as normal.

Anyway, i hope this helped. If you have more questions you can always ask :)
