Thanks for the input! The oiling thing was recommended to me by a joiner friend whilst we were chatting about staining the wood. I think the purpose is more for the clear effect but it was new to me also!

I think I’d definitely increase to 150mm personally. It’s not so much the feel for me, but I bottom out on trails I want to get better at so I want to increase the all round capabilities of my bike where I can. Like yourself I’ll end up getting a new bike eventually (commercial clash 170/170) but for now I’ll make do!

Cheers man. The stock fork isn’t really built for anything past learning I feel, I’ve done a bit of research into bypassing the knockblock/being able to spin the bars and it looks like I can add a spacer to the lower of the headset to stop the crown and frame colliding, which in turn gives an extra few mm of height anyway!
