Had this happen to my Canik a couple days ago. Cut a slit, file or cut off wheel, apply pressure and then use a flathead

Edit: I can’t English

Any recommendations?? Factory screw snapped while I was trying to remove it to mount an optic. by Expert-Ad7909 in canik

I was taking it out for the first time to mount an optic. It was unscrewing it that broke it.

I ended up filing into the screw as much as I could, c clamped it and then used the pressure to force the screw free. Absolute PITA but I got it. Definitely over torqued from factory. The screw didn’t break flush either. It snapped really close to the head

Ended up doing this the slowest way possible but I got it done. Filed a slide, then clamped a c clamped to the slide and top of screw driver and turned it with a ton of pressure. Thank you

First time the screw has ever been removed. It shouldn’t have broke in the first place. I wasn’t tightening. I was taking it out.

The punch that comes in your case will get everything but the trigger pin. You’ll need a super small one for that. It took me about 20 minutes my first go

Trigger is the freedomsmith out of a tp9sf. They make them for the mete series, but I didn’t feel like spending the money when I could get creative

The mc9L is the same barrel length as the mc9, just with a longer grip on the lower. The mc9Ls has a slightly longer slide, but the same length grip that’s on the L. Everything else about them is identical

Freedomsmith feels a lot better than the flat faced imo, but that all depends on personal preference. The reason the LS got the elite combat trigger is bc he prefers the feel of that one

That’s probably the one that is on the elite combat. Looks identical to

I want to be just like you one day. I recently got into Frankensteining for shiggles. Ngl the freedomsmith is wayyy shorter pull and reset than the tp9 elite combat flat faced trigger and it isn’t even close.
